Poch’s substitutes were spot on. Got to give him some credit today
@hnaku874822 күн бұрын
I want him gone(though only for TT). But yes, he got the subs right today. It's what some have been asking whole season. Imagine if we had been doing that most of the time, we would be talking about UCL places for sure(like most expected at the start of season). 3 games difference. Last few games he has been getting most things correct. It shouldn't take the job to be in real threat to have that. Not impressed with overall performance today, first half we started like old Chelsea of this season. But we took our chances and got the 3 points, all that matters in the end.

@@sound4117 Yes very slim chance. I think TT would give us a better gauge of the players and get lot more patience from the fans. Let's be honest with 1 normal year remaining of MP's contract, this saga will repeat again next season. Specially if we dip again. In an optimistic view it doesn't matter who we have him or anyone else. We have to prepare for the worst. Also, we truly will regret it if TT does actually turn out great long term elsewhere. He was ours. I feel emotion is important in football, we can see many are not feeling it with the manager for various reasons currently.

Caicedo was one of the best today. In Sterling's goal, Caicedo pivots a right-side attack to the left, a smart move, which is a great lead-in for Sterling to make his run, and then that ball to Reece James is just perfect, the ball had the ideal momentum right into Forest's box, leaving Reece James completely alone to center a beautiful ball. He also had that spectacular lob to Palmer! Another very solid game, good defensively, blocked several important shots...

REECE JAMES IS GENERATIONAL! iNJURIES HAS BEEN ROBBING US OF AN ALL TIMER! The highlight today was the quality of performances we could have had all season with key players being fit and available. Our mental fortitude as regards coming back from behind of recent as been impressive. It shows this team have the stones to get results when it matters, sad we didn't have this much earlier. One has to give credit to players like Caicedo who's contributions in the team can be overshadowed by prettier performances from forwards like Cole Palmer. His off the ball work is superb, and his on the ball ability; technical ability, ball distribution, is top notch. Think at this point like you said the likes of Sterling and Nkunku need to be starting the rest of the games, we need to start and finish games strong, not chasing a win at the 80th minute with the likes of Mudryk and Noni being subpar for a huge chunk of the game.

Once Fernandez learns this system and replaces Gallagher he can be feeding mudryk on the left with his creativity whilst Cole feeds madueke on the right, knowing cucu and moise are behind them. The problem now is the defence but I have faith when Levi is back that left side will be solid! We just need either chalobah to stay and hold that central role and lead this defence or Chelsea invest in a worldie of a centre back like deligt ect, and finally Reece on the right side/rcb role! That is my team going forward! Europe in sight! COYB! 💙

Credit to Poch, we used our overload plan on the right. Nottingham knew that and didn’t play a right winger as such. They overloaded their left to counter that. Poch moved the team balance with putting ball players Nkunku and Sterling on with Cucu joining in. Palmer the deeper play maker where the space was. Now the left changed completely to nullify the threat by absorbing pressure and hitting on the counter. Reece playing as a more traditional right back with Gusto supporting. This allowed less space for CHO to receive on the wing and run infield with pace. It also made the right more of 1 and 2 touch. Harder to hit on the counter as there are no dribblers. I.e. if ball is lost the probability would be that it would be done so after the player has passed forward. Making it nearly impossible to counter with opposition fast wingers, unless you have a striker like Jackson who takes advantage of space left down the side of CB’s. e.g. in to out. But they had Chris Wood. Great observation by Poch and the coaching staff. Interestingly I thought, was Chris Wood was asked to isolate our tallest player in Badi. They must have deemed him our weakest link in defence. I agree, ever since giving away a penalty he doesn’t seem to want to commit to last minute blocks. You don’t see him slide. Nor go full pace like he thinks the player will cut the ball back. Badi no matter how bad he is playing in this moment, is my pick to be our main CB. He has speed, height, judges headers extremely well, is calm when defending, and last season read play extremely well. At the moment he is being humbled. But with a few games under his belt hopefully he will not worry about injuries, mistakes and fitness.

I thought we were largely disappointing in this game until the substitutes. Forest looked much more dangerous than us in attack and more than anything they looked like they cared more. Our first goal was the combination of a phenomenal pass and a great run - but it was against the run of play. Jackson was absolutely woeful in that first half. I found myself tearing my hair out watching him always take the extra touch and not release the pass or shot. He was also completely at fault for their first goal by just giving up on tracking his man. When those changes came, Gusto provided some drive on the right side and Sterling popped up from out of nowhere with that goal. And then Reece James reminded us why we’ve missed him all season. For me, a poor performance but excellent substitutions lead to a win where it really could have gone either way. Hopefully our next games will be more convincing performances.

It's actually unbelievable how Reece just comes in after 5 months of injury and comfortable looks like one of our top 3 players. Getting and assist is just the cherry on top. Though it was shaky in the first half I do think that most of our players played rather well Although Madueke didn't manage to do anything and Badiashile had me worried again after that unnecessary yellow and the goal soon after but was fine. Jackson made some questionable decision when he had the ball but tbf he did everything right for the winner and he was constantly eating grass with not a single call going his way. Btw can I just mention how good it feels to look at the bench and actually have players there that I know what they look like and roughly what their playstyle is instead of just guessing what part of the academy a certain name was pulled from? As much as I like trying out kids, recognizing the names just emanates a certain security.

I have an issue with the marking still. The number of goals we’ve conceded from an open man at the top of the box from day a corner or like today a man wide open on the back post; it’s unacceptable. It’s not like Odoi was way out on the wing he was within the 18 yard box and there wasn’t an overload in the middle, there was no reason for Gusto to be tucked in.
