I toured the Bluenose when she was here in Kenosha for the Sail Challenge in 2019. One of the best weekends ever!

Did the harbour sail in 2017, a fantastic experience and well worth the doing. Like the Captain said, there is nothing like being on a sailboat of this size.

Sailed right along on the Hudson River, July 4th, 1986. From the George Washington Bridge down to the Battery at the base of the World Trade Center. Yep ~ Right along with the Bluenose II. Pisces, a 58 foot schooner out of Portsmouth NH. Just a bunch of friends drinking beer tacking back and forth into the 15k breeze. The Bluenose ~ right along. ~ That Statue of Liberty, all shined up and refurbished. The Bluenose, ~about~ under the bridge with all sails up into the wind, back down river, a jaw dropping sight. I"ll tell ya. The fireworks in NYC that night. All the "tall ships." ~ And the Bluenose. Wow. Golden moments for me. ✨🌸🙏🌸✨. 🇺🇸. ✨🇨🇦 ✨♥♥♥

Another Bluenose II was built from the keel up in 2012. The one sailing now is not the one launched in 1963, yet it is represented as such. Why?

The original boat had no motor. Does the two have one?

Yes, we have twin John Deere diesels on Bluenose II. The original Bluenose had an engine installed in 1936, but it was removed during the races.

Hi Robert, Bluenose was a common nickname for Nova Scotians that dates back to the 1700s. There are several theories on the origin of the name, but the most likely is that one of the popular crops from NS were little blue potatoes that looked like noses. Yeah I agree with Chhindz. You had a lot of great photographs and videos and the main subjects were hidden by those huge subtitles. It detracted a lot from the enjoyment. Not leaving you a like, although I'd like to.
