Thanks Josh! Loved it. Silas is an ancestor of mine and you told his story well. I will say that Annie denied the John Brown rescue out of fear. Any involved with Brown were in fear of retaliation and even arrest.

@WildWestExtravaganza I grew up near the Arkansas/Oklahoma border & now live in Missouri, about 2 football fields from Kansas. My route covered Ks-Ok-Tx & La when you started your channel & now I drive across Ks-Co-Wy-Ne & N. Mo every week visiting so many of the towns & areas you have mentioned in your historical narratives. Your story telling motivates me to study whenever I hear you mention a familiar location along my travel routes. As a life long history buff & also having a degree (minor) in History, I really appreciate your hard work & the research you do. I also appreciate your sense of humor, as well as your humility in your presentation. You are very talented young man! Lord willing, it won't go to your head & ruin ya like it has others 🙏

Historical update, territorial governor John Evans had a mountain named after him in Colorado (Mount Evans) but in September 2023 that name was changed to Mount blue sky because of Evan’s involvement with the Sand Creek massacre

As I have told you before, you are fantastic Josh! However, it’s pronounced POT-TOW-WATT-O-ME. 😂😂😂 As a Kansans with a county and Native Nation named Pottawatomie, I can’t allow a Texan to continue to mispronounce it😂😂😂😂😂 Love your work, Buddy

Great episode. I agree with your take on Sand Creek. By this time, Americans should have known better. It’s definitely a horrible stain on the history of our nation. I highly recommend anyone interested in Wild West history visit sites like Sand Creek, Washita, Little Big Horn, Ft Phil Kearney, etc etc. Definitely makes history feel more real to see these sites.

I think the argument over slavery went back way farther than the revolutionary war. I think there was almost a war between the colonies in the 1600s over slavery.

Another great episode Josh. I just finished reading the book Tombstone: The Earp Brothers, Doc Holliday and The Vendetta Ride From Hell by Tom Clavin. In the book Wyatt Earp had a friend that rode with his posse named Origen Charles Smith better known as Hairlip Charlie. I had never heard of this man before thought I would mention his name in case you might be interested in doing a video on him someday.

We were talking about history last night. Mostly US history and the topic of slavery was part of it. I couldn't remember when we, in Pennsylvania, abolished slavery. So thank you for that! I couldn't remember and I didn't use the goog to find out. All I had to do was wait a few hours. So next time I have a history question, I'll just wait eight hours for Josh to make a video😂
