Overwatch player here: Solider 76 is the most stereotypical "get off my lawn" old solider. Super lone wolfy, hates "kids these days with their fancy mechs and gravity guns" and all that jazz. Also he canonically barbecues.

First of all, this thing is awesome. And amazing. And ridiculous. I wasn't expecting anywhere near that rate of fire. Genuine "holy crap" moment. Secondly, to my eyes, it looks like there might be just the right amount of space in the original hopper to fit a bike pump to feed your Titan/XBZ/ whatever. Then you might be able to connect the handle of the pump to the hopper door and use that to actuate the pump. That would make for a super clean integration. But yea, thank you for sharing and a double thank you for all that you've done and continue to do for the hobby. Happy New Year!

I very much like the soldier 76 blaster, though it's rate of fire isn't quite what I was hoping for, but I see you've addressed that also. I like where you put the Hopper hose as well. Addressing the fake grenade launcher is another request.

The Soldier '76 blaster looks epic in your colors! My favorite Rival blasters are the Khaos and Hades because of their silhouette and heft, I think this may be a "rival" pardon the pun for those two classic blasters.

I always figured this blaster'd be better with a removable 38 round hopper, 8 more rounds (half of 76 lol) and you can reload just like Soldier 76 does? That's awesome, awesome and fast. Of course you'd get, just..just one hopper but it'd be cool on paper

That tube under the barrel is a grenade launcher in the game. Why they didn't put a demolisher launcher is beyond me, probably budget reason. In the game it actually launches something like 3 mini rockets so maybe you can put a mega dart shotgun or something in there. Anyway, this thing looks amazing and can't wait to see what else you're gonna do to it.

I do not, no. What I probably need are higher torque motors to keep up with that rate of fire. Or I could lower the rate of fire.

I wonder if an OOD Mighty Mama could be mounted in the cylinder underneath? That way you can have multi-barrel options with a T-pull under the blaster? Edit: I realize you rest your hand where the T-pull would protrude, never mind!

Have you thought about adding your “flame thrower” zeus blasters to this series? I think that would awesome.

I do plan to eventually. They will take more work because they are currently not at all modular. They are wired directly to their packs. So it will be a major overhaul. Their tanks are older dumb tanks so they won't work with the other blasters unless I find a way to add current sensing and add a battery housing. Currently the batteries are in the blasters and they send power to the packs. Unlike the newer system where the pack sends power to the blasters. I could add a battery housing and then add a mosfet to activate the tank. That would allow them to work with the hopper blasters at least...hmmm

Yes, but only for the hopper blasters. To make them work with the direct feed ones, it would require tech I currently do not have.

Has anyone tested multistage flywheels for rival? Seems like this blaster would be a good candidate for some sort of afterburner style set up on the end.

You know, not that I have ever seen. Past a certain FPS rival becomes pretty useless, and a single stage can usually hit that threshold.

Excellent. I've got a soldier 76 and it's a pig. Too big , too heavy , too much for batteries , only works with brand new Duracell D batts. After watching this I may book it up to the mains and put a bin on top as a hopper.

@@CaptainXavier You say "air power" and now my twisted little mind is picturing a miniature port slung under the blaster that launches itty-bitty drones with 1-shot dart launchers or something. (Kinda like Little Rockets with propellers and RC systems.) Not sure if that'd be a good (read: safe) idea, though.

Now, though, I'm picturing some evil genius with a small (and presumably very durable) camera drone that feeds to a screen on their beefed-up shotgun-type blaster. Can you say "self-spotting Nerf mortar?" Come to think of it, a similar setup with a modified Cornerfire would also be pretty cool. (Though that would require 2 people to be effective.) Complicated? Maybe. Practical? Maybe not. Fun? Most likely.

I am familiar with Heavy Duty. I was very into GI Joe as a kid. He is often depicted as having a monigun that looks almost exactly like TYR. However, given your response, I assume you are referring to the dual minigun with dual rocket launches he came with in the 90s?
