Nothing really. It's very tropey, especially at the beginning, so that is a turn off for people who've seen a lot of shonen. But, those tropes are executed better than any other shonen I've seen. The female characters are a million times better. There are great twists that you don't see coming, and the protagonist is fantastic. Black clover basically takes all the good from old shonen shows and perfects it while adding it's own flair. I love black clover to death and the people who say it sucks probably didn't get to episode 30, which is when it really came into it's own and differentiated itself from the rest. Now I'm on ep 140, and I tell you it's worth it.
