Gendry became the lord of storm's end so no, he wasn't in the boat, not all love story has a happy ending but I'm sure he would move on even though it's hard. Arya and Gendry's romantic relationship wasn't mentioned much in the last few books so I don't think they'll end up together in the book either, and actually Gendry's love for Arya mirrored the relationship between his father and Lyanna Stark, a love story where between a baratheon and stark that didn't end well, so I'm pretty sure Gendry will marry someone else.

Jon compared Ygritte's body to Arya's. I don't think any normal older brother thinks about his sister before he's about to have sex. I love Gendrya too, though.

It was prophesised that, like Azor Ahai himself when he killed Nissa Nissa to forge Lightbringer, the reincarnation would sacrifice their lover in order to herald in the new world. Arya sacrificed the feelings she had for Gendry, rejecting his proposal, in order to sail west to FIND a new world. Arya was Azor Ahai and, even after she killed the Night King, she didn't forge her Lightbringer until after the Great War. Her Lightbringer was her self-assurance, something that she had been forging since the pilot of the show and it took for her to finally fall in love for her to realise that she had to make the choice between love and the Ladyship that she never wanted that came along with it or the freedom to be the person that she knew deep down she was always meant to be.

yʼall listen up, i know weʼre all devastated after the finale, but in terms of gendrya (aka the only game of thrones ship that matters), i donʼt think d&d screwed us over as hard as we think. in season 3, when arya asked gendry to be her family, he declined, not because he didnʼt care about her, but because he didnʼt see himself be happy in the situation offered to him (“what? serve him?”). in season 8, when he finally comes back, heʼs realised that wherever arya is, thatʼs where he belongs. it has taken him a while to figure it out, but he knows that now. technically, heʼs serving jon, but he is happy. i think that the same happenes w arya this season. when he proposed to her & wanted her to come to stormʼs end, she declined, not because she didnʼt care about him, but because she didnʼt see herself be happy in the situation offered. (“iʼm not a lady”). i think arya will sail off & figure her stuff out (just like gendry spent a few years away from her in kingʼs landing). but just as gendry, who slowly but surely realised that the offer of coming to winterfell wasnʼt wrong for him, sheʼll realise that the offer of joining him in stormʼs end isnʼt wrong for her either. sheʼll eventually realise that she misses her home, her family, HiM. the excitement will fade away, it wonʼt be nearly enaugh to make her happy, because there is no one to share it with. i think their ending was open & she will go back to him. also, we always have the books. thanks for reading, i hope i gave yʼall some hope. ❤️

I will never forget Arya's words to Gendry: 'I can be your family'. Thanks for this video. Their story began in season 1 and ended in season 8 (for me their relationship will last forever) so their story was the longest in all Game of Thrones (with long break which lasted for 4 seasons of course). It's an open ending. They will find their way back to each other. Arya needs to take time to heal without revenge and without a list. Gendry needs to take time to learn how to be a lord and what he wants in his new life. We can draw our own conclusions. Arya never said she was leaving forever. She may take a gap year and go back. Without a conclusive goodbye scene on the show he can be on the damn boat. He is not on the council. We can imagine he gave up storms end. If not they will go back to each other.

Actually Gendry has never wanted to be lord the only thing he wanted was the family and arya offered that to him. Unfortunately that was the reason why they were separated for so long time ( Gendry trusted Brotherhood) and in season 8 were many scenes which convinced me that arya will keep her promise. I'm romantic and sensitive too and sometimes it's necessary that we must imagine our own stories about our favourite characters. That's all which I needed say about them.

Only prequels that won't include any of the characters we know, the first is titled bloodmoon (for now) it's about the children of the forest set 1000 years before GoT, rumor has it the Night King will appear but it contradicts what was said about none of the characters we know being in it.

From a story perspective, Arya should've stayed with Gendry. At the beginning she is all about adventure and not being a lady - but she loses her humanity and realizes she needs her family. Gendry would've been the kind of husband she could've been herself with, but still had that grounded family. Like how Sansa thinks all she wants is a prince and babies, but learns she can rule in her own right. Would've been parallel stories to have them both realize they didn't actually want what they thought they did when they were kids.

First, GREAT VIDEO!! Thanks so much for your time! Can I add, what I wouldn’t give for one glimpse of Gendry on her boat somewhere inconspicuously as she sailed off. I know she doesn’t want to be a typical lady but this is a fantasy world and her useless brother is now the king. Arya needs to rewrite the ‘Lady’ book! There will be a woman in the book of nights now~ how about she does her exploring under a dire wolf and a stag banner?

Who knows? Maybe Arya does return to Westeros one day and Gendry might just wait with the marriage thing until then (alternatively, Gendry marries, has an heir, wife dies, and he rows off into the sunset to find Arya) ;) #Gendrya

I'm... ok this is a piece of art, I'm seeing this and I'm tearing, of course, I'm not the only Gendrya fan, but this season was above deception, I mean, all ships are together only for in one chapter moking us, I would love to see Arya and Gendry together, I think he would be the only one who would understand who is she, and what she want, they were friends, family, and in one night was like " f*ck you"...ok ok I know I'm a little dramatic but...buuut!!!

It would also of been great if Gendry did give up his crown infront of Arya, Jon, Sansa & Dany to prove to Arya that he loves her. That Jon & Sansa learn about them. And it would also of helped with Dany going nutz, she had such a smug look when she made him Lord, if only to see her when she finds out this Baratheon loved another Stark. Another loyal Stark less loyal to Dany. Everyone loyal to the Starks no one on her side again. Would of loved that convo between Arya & Gendry to of been like,'I love her, I'm giving it all up for her,' Jon, Sansa Dany confused as hell. Dany thinking he means Sansa. Gendry,' it doesn't mean anything with out her,' looking at Arya. Everyone shocked. Arya probably yelling at him calling him an idiot or something. So he's about to walk away & says, 'I've never had a family.' Arya slowly breaking down,'I'll never be a Lady,' Gendry walking away, 'but I can be your family'. Gendry turns backaround & just looks at her. 'I never thought of you as a bastard.' And kisses him. Dany just more pissed, losing her shit. And Arya & Gendry travel west together in the end.

This is beautiful. I'm believing he was on the boat. The books aren't finished and thanks to a particular character by the name of Edric Storm. I believe Gendrya are endgame in the books. I mean you don't write a lovesong that ends happy for a couple that's not endgame right? Until then we have fanfiction.
