I guess, he is just the incarnation of a perfectionist. Even though this here is probably just his elaborate hobby, I am pretty sure he'd rather post nothing than anything that isn't perfectly edited. And I can totally relate. I wanted to do vlogging stuff like a decade ago, but not quick and cheap shit, but really nice to watch stuff with top notch editing. Well, after working for 3 months on a 2½ hours video, that nobodoy cared to see anyway, I quit the vlogging. And now turning back to the same business - but this time, working forever on my first episode on a fully animated show. Perfectionism is mostly a curse, it only benefits others but makes you take far longer for everything, that others put out quickly and it's still good enough.
@MsZeeZed8 сағат бұрын
@@duggo42that’s not the effort that’s being praised. I hope he'll do an explainer. A rule of thumb, in European human rights, is that the use of a trademark must make fun of the trademark, or its owner. If the sketch doesn't make fun of Chase, or reference something that's happened in a Chase bank, it isn't a parody of Chase, and the use of the logo and name requires permission.
@u986268 сағат бұрын
There is an explainer on fair use. Jack’s joke at the end would reinforce the assertion that the sketch lacks parody of the bank specifically, instead riffing on a generic robbery trope. Use of the logo would likely fail a fair use claim here.

The Chase branding was so prominent in the sketch it had people talking about how tacky and spon-con it felt, so perhaps Chase was embarrassed by the backlash and asked to be removed. Capt. D: What's up with this sketch? Me: Well probably the obvious cgi branding on the wall. Capt. D: The strange rotoscoping in front of these pictures Me: Of course, how could I be so GD stupid from only seeing the 750 millisecond clip before he told me ... Capt. D: AND THESE GIANT CGI SIGNS EVERYWHERE Me: Of course, why have I been so stupid and focused on those GD pictures for this entire video?

I was saying to a friend that the internet has really destroyed life. In so many ways. Captain D is the one way it didn’t. A shining star in a sea of darkness.

I was literally listening to the Abroad in Japan podcast from this week this morning and they mentioned they hadn't seen you post in a while. And now here you are! Good timing!

9:19 that was the coolest shot I've seen ever. I loved this video
@tsurugizaki10 сағат бұрын
Amazing as always. Every shot is just packed with so much love and care. Even though as a non-American much of it is lost on me. The analysis was very different to the usual stuff - but reaching out for official answers is a perfectly valid method of solving a mystery. It's the presentation that makes it so enjoyable, and you absolutely nailed it.

The stagehand rushing in at the end to yank the host away to get ready for the next sketch was an extremely nice touch.

I noticed that too. I would never have thought CD was that way into kids. Disappointing.

I know your content has traditionally focused on debunks, but I loved this little look into the more inter-woven processes and reasons behind when and why VFX changes were made in production. With less new things to debunk (besides the reruns of people using the same hoax), these kinds of topics seem like a great path to go down. Keep up the great work, always excited to see an upload!

This was the most funny thing I've seen CD do. I laughed so hard that my whole body turned into a lobster. Now I'm stuck as a lobster but also a human, some strange creature. I blame you CD! Clearly, the only way to resolve this is to let me interview you. ... worth a shot. :D

I watched this episode live and thought I remembered the robbery sketch being in a Chase bank, so when this video started I went, "huh, I must be misremembering..."

Really great, especially since you can tell that Jack isn't actually there, so I'm guessing the shot where it pulls away, he's just a 3D model. Also seeing Alystair in this video is a wonderful surprise!

If you watch a Jackie Chan movie in reverse you have a movie about a guy that is really good at putting Ikea furniture together with his feet.

I was really hoping this was going to be about how Garth Brooks introduced himself (Chris Gaines) on live TV, then it panned over to the stage where Garth Brooks (as Chris Gaines) was ready to perform.
