10D Wintertide Elementalist

Starting up trying out some 10D experimental builds again, and the first one we did is wintertide elementalist. This character did suprisingly well killing 6/7 ubers and barely faily uber awakener within a 1-2% of cull range. Wintertide I believe is currently very easilly overlooked due to the fact I believe PoB does not correctly account for 3 brands attached to an enemy as well as the fact it can have an additional dot on the ground. I wouldn't say I have a perfect setup but for a strict budget of 10 divines I believed this worked quite well. Will be working on more builds as like to do 4-7ish 10D build experiments but in the meantime I will be getting to playtest and record gameplay footage of poe2 for couch co-op playtest ggg invited me to try which will happen before more 10D builds. take care exiles!

It's kind of a shame they removed left click. Brand recall was awesome on left click. Now you need automation to get the same effect, which takes up one additional gem socket :/

Wintertide brand is an amazing and very easy league starter that will take you to red maps before falling off. The past few leagues have had much better endgame options for brands

I played it several times and is still one of my favorite skill. Unfortunately it has issues. Scalling it to high end dps is too difficult and never worth the investment. The (maybe?) good news is the skill is one of the few that has yet to receive any transfigured version. I'm hoping 3.25 can rectify that.

@@nothuman I tried to play with it, but i was just questioning myself why am i not playing penance instead, but you bring up a good point, it doesn't have transfigured version yet, hopefully they do something fun with it eventually.

I did golem of safeguarding on affliction when we had golem effect charms. Pretty insane and underrated. The only crappy part is them dying super quick.

I just consume every penny about wintertide... Since I started playing a cold dot occultist in 3.16 I've always liked more this playstyle than shooting and exploding things... Besides PB from the occultist ascendency

If you resummon Golems due to Liege of Primordial, do you/they get the damage Boni of "#% increased Damage if you Summoned a Golem in the past 8 seconds" and "Golems Summoned in the past 8 seconds deal #% increased Damage"?

no cause it does not say "% increased MINION Damage". It just increases YOUR damage.

Really interested in the golem taking 94% phys, assuming budget isn't an issue I guess you can make it so the golem take 100% of the incoming phys damage?

It works for all damage. Problem is it's only from melee hits. And it'll get the golem killed and pass on the remaining damage to you if you don't make the golem tanky. Remember that the safeguarding version is weaker than the regular version, and has a LONG cooldown. It's good for certain fights, but rest of the time won't do much for you. And it's only good on builds like this that invest into it.

I’ve been testing SSF league starts for hexblast. Most guides say switch to pryoclast at 28 but I don’t like it, so I did GC mines instead. It was fun but then found eye of winter was even better for leveling, without the stupid knock back stuff. Izaro was a pain with GC mines, easier with eye of winter. Couldn’t test GC fissure in SSF though.

@@JezzyHsu I've actually played a lot of GC as a self-cast and miner myself since it's my favorite skill, but it's really hard to get a good balance with GC between DMG and defense to kill all ubers, especially in SSF, which is all I play. I was hoping that maybe Lance could help with a good idea, since he often thinks outside the box.

@@PaiMei667 You can check POE ninja, I'm sure there's 1 or 2 power charge stacking GC mines. I also wonder if the Fissure variant is better so you dont have to worry about push back range

Brand recall can actually be used for higher single target, When you recall a wintertide brand, it will leave that ground dot and then reattach. So you can use it to force a brand to leave a dot on the ground earlier. It won't be max stages but it will give you 4 sources of dot on the enemy sooner rather than later.

That's part of why I dropped wintertide brand a lot of times when I played dot. Pob doesn't show the damage corectly. However, frost blades of katabasis looks to be the best, spells were powercrept quite a bit in comparison. Also im surprised you killed ubers with it, the damage in pob is low. Usually you get around 2.5mil at 20 stages with a giga invested character. You only have 1mil-ish in 10 divs and did ubers, which is crazy. 2.5mil at 20 stages translates to around 10 mil I guess. On my budget katabasis with 5 divs I got 5 mil dps as a trickster and can pump up to close to 20 mil damage with giga investment. So ubers are not that scary xD
