The point should be to iterate on the design of what you can do with portals, not go "eh, lets disregard the main gimmick and do a pure parkour section." You could do that on literally any Minecraft map.

Why doesn't Jordan just use the portals that he already has down? And why doesn't he just alternate between the portals he shoots when he already has a portal next to him, it'd be much simpler to shoot the opposite color of it.... This is so damn frustrating. (Edit, I guess he can't choose to shoot the same color portal twice, but still should use the portals he already has down, and be able to alternate between his portals properly...)

His gameplay was above average and if you're complaining than you're just being picky, which would be fine as long as you're not just stating how you want the game to be played. That said, I don't really get how basic mechanics like, "My portals don't disappear from where I left them", would count as backseat gaming. Even if it is, it's still frustrating to me.
