I live in SW Florida. Yesterday I was in the backyard, watching a large group (about 25 birds) of ibis feeding on the lawn. Suddenly the entire group erupted and took flight. I wondered what had startled them, until I looked up and saw an eagle flying our way. I've always figured eagles ate ibises they found as roadkill, but now I believe they actually hunt them. I'm a bit sad about that, because I think of ibises as wonderfully social birds and really enjoy watching them. Oh well, I guess it's in the eagle's nature to hunt... still, I wish they'd stick to eating fish!

Yes lady hawk, our nestlings are looking particularly adorable!! I'll try and imprint this stage of growth in memory as they'll change quickly! 😅 I'm Indebted to CROW and WTW for removing the dangerous electrical string as well.
