Well, thanks for that. VERY useful information. I have just bought this program and it's a monster! You have helped a tremendous amount. Sadly, after I got Capture One, I was diagnosed with severe breathing problems (70YRS) so getting about has hit quite a wall, but at least I can learn the program with your help, and the thousands of images I have. Great video as always sir! I've been a COP user for many years. I love the software, but hate the new policy for perpetual license holders like myself. The loyalty program is not very beneficial to me, and I believe is misleading for subscribers who think they get a free license at the 5 year mark. This will be the first year I do not upgrade to the latest version because of the recent changes. I finish everything in Photoshop anyway, so don't really need the masking functionality. I don't want to go back to LR, but already get it with my Adobe subscription, and the masking in LR is much better than COP at the moment.

Thanks William I understand. I know people were upset with the new changes for the perpetual license but who knows maybe they'll update it later. As for the masking I'm sure with future updates Capture One will keep getting better.

Problem is this version is full of bugs "again" so a new set of bugs to deal with. And, if you buy a perpetual license these bugs won't be fixed before a new "point" version comes out and they are now baked into your license. C-1 is just money hungry now the old company prior to V-20 is a thing of the past.

Hi Eli Thanks so much for your video I purchased C1 in blackfriday deal. I just have an issue. I can only apply a style to one image at a time on my mac. I hold down command and select multiple images but when I apply my style it only applies to 1/1. On your video 18:32 you were able to apply to 4. If you know where I am going wrong I would be most grateful. I have latest pro version 16.3

AI masking is great. But when are they going to fix their crop tool. And any other tool that makes you click the hand tool to activate the action. I love/hate capture one. Thank you for the video.

@@EliInfante There is no way to reset it. Clicking outside the crop, double clicking outside, no right click to reset. I've been told there is a way to reset it, by clicking outside the crop window, but it doesn't work. I usually crop first, because if I have to reset the crop later, I have to reset the entire image, or fiddle with it for way longer than necessary. Also when you set a crop and press enter, nothing happens. You have to click the hand icon to make it take action. You can press enter to take action on other tools like the straighten, and the multi line straighten tool. And it would be nice if the crop would slide and auto adjust when it hits an edge so you can maximize the usable area. instead, is stops when it hits one edge and you have to move the box and keep making the window bigger a little at a time till you finally get all the way to both edges. I actually contacted Capture one about it, and they basically told me that they like how it works and they don't plan on doing anything about it. The simplest tool is probably my biggest complaint about it. Because it affects every image I touch.

Use the/a keyboard shortcut to get back to the hand tool and set the crop. ??

On latest release you can click outside the crop (single click, left mouse button) and it resets is. Does on mine anyway, on a Mac. @@rgreeneish

Man I wish I had seen yesterday before purchasing the film pack smh 🤦‍♂ Hey Eli love your content. I have a question when you make your mask adjustments is there a way to make a preset that you can just one click like in photoshop or Lightroom and tweek in capture one. For an example like the girl you had laying down and you made mask for her legs and background and you had 6 more pictures similar that you can fix with one click. Is that possible. Sorry for the long question. A work flow question

If I understand you questions correctly you can make Custom Brushes and Presets with the settings already adjusted. That way when you click with the AI Select brush those settings will automatically be applied. Let me know if that answered you question. Thanks!

@@EliInfante maybe fuji users to light editing, when i push highlights harder like i do in LR, CO just craps out, i have to manually compensate but even then sometimes not perfect, a lot of color shift and banding

Yep, LR is bad for Fuji. Poor sharpness. BUT LR import, use of sidecars, and maps is MUCH better.
