This video shows camera-trap footage of wild bearded capuchin monkeys (Sapajus libidinosus) from two populations using hammerstones to crack open palm nuts.
We analyzed the success and efficiency of nut-cracking by those monkeys, comparing sex, age, and populations.
We found that some populations present sex differences and others do not, and that even when processing similar resources, some can be more efficient, although success is similar.
