A bit of a correction here I believe, the video mentions the Cephalohaematoma as being a result of emissary vein rupture, but it's infact the sub-periosteal veins that rupture to cause this. Emissary venous rupture results in a Subgaleal haemorrhage, which freely crosses the suture lines too.

My 6 year has swelling on the head ( left side) 4 to 5 inch long and 2 inch wide approx seems fluid inside but his expressions are absolutely normal, lastly he has a tendency of keeping his head down and legs up and playing hours when alone can it be due to this or any danger there?

My baby she have 3week what must I do now
@mailboxxy2 жыл бұрын
My daughter was born 10pounds even. She came at 40+1 weeks. I couldn't push her out, I had an epidural and had to have forceps to help pull her out. The forceps popped off the first pull and then the doctor had to reuse the forceps. Her head had a pool blood baggie at the back, and four hours later they life flighted her to an Austin, TX NICU. I was very sad about this of course. I believe she has caput. But it's returned. I'm honestly not sure anymore. I live too far from any NICU so I'm concerned she won't be getting the right care if I take her into an ER..

If it is Caput Succedaneum then it is a self-limiting condition. She should of course be checked by a pediatrician but normally it is not that serious.

How long will it take for Disappearing uneven shape of the head
@lydiaameya53642 жыл бұрын
My baby had that caput and it's almost 2 weeks now without disappearing,I'm worried it can go upto how many months ?
@OsteopathyStudies2 жыл бұрын
Remember, this video is about caput succedaneum and cephalohematoma - and uneven shaped head is normally caused by plageocephaly. This is a fairly normal condition that can take a good few months to recover. One should always be careful to get it checked and make sure it is not craniosynostosis - a condition that requires surgery.

My 18 days baby has cephalamatoma .I am worried what I have to do .
@OsteopathyStudies2 жыл бұрын
As long as you have been seen by a doctor there is nothing else to do. If they have reassured you that there are no complications the condition is self limiting.

Yes that is correct, the condition is self-limiting and should not take more than a few weeks to fully recover.
