I used hook size 4mm, but you can use any kind of yarn you want, you just have to buy a hook size compatible with the yarn you choose, the suggest hook sizes on the label, I advise you to start with thicker cotton yarns, it's easier...

Just made this and it turned out so cute. Think there's a slight issue with the first popcorn round though, it says there are 18 sc after the second bobble, but there are 19. Reckon it's because the second round of popcorn has 18sc after the last leg. Next time I might work those front legs one round earlier too, to see if that helps it stand a bit better. I weighted the back end, but it still looks like it wants to topple forward. Might just be something to do with my stitching. Thank you for such a sweet pattern!

Your explanation is so easy and the toy is so perfect (even my copy) that I' m going to repeaat it with another kind of yarn to have it bigger. Just one question about the scheme. in row 19 I counted 29 stiches, not 30. Where did i make a mistake?

Are you using a 4mm hook size and a thick yarn compatible with it? If you use smaller than that it turns out smaller too...

yess, I faced the same problem but I easily fixed it well by using a Bulky yarn and an appropriate hook with it :))

why don't you make a slide after finish the rounds? and also why you don't do increase's in the stomach? my capi ended up having a big head and small body .-.

The capy it's supposed to look like the thumbnail picture, and the toy in the video if you follow the pattern as is. If your's doesn't match, maybe you can try redoing it, to see if you missed something in following the pattern I don't make a slide after the finish rounds, cause that's how we do in amigurumi projects, it's different than in regular crochet... And I don't increase in the stomach, because if I did, the capy would have a different shape, and I intend it to look just exactly as it is... Ps: I think you could have commented in a more politely way, since I'm just here sharing my free designs so that animals from my country (Brazil) are more well know to people worldwide...
