Car Audio Amp Computer Power Supply Transformation

In this video I converted my computer power supply to power my JEC3245 car Audio Amplifier. In addition I also connected an LED display and an optional 5Volts to a female USB cable extension for charging my power banks and smartphones.
For safety always use a fused cable with the ground connector working. Make sure that the chassis of the power supply is connected to the middle ground cable.
This is the colour coding on any power supply
Yellow: +12V, In my case
White: +12V too
Red: +5V I connected that to the USB cable
Orange: +3.3V
Black: Nrgative or Ground terminal
Blue: -12V
Purple: 5V SB (standby voltage)
Green: /PS_ON (short it to ground to start the Power supply)
So this is what the grey wire is for?
The grey "power good" indicator is at 5V if each of the output wires is operating at the correct voltages.

For USB sockets , source original ones from desktops (fronts).the wires are thick enough. Otherwise a good educative video

What is the use of that remote wire.the orange one between negative and ground wire.

That's a remote switch for turning on the amplifier. Without it the amplifier would drain the car battery even withoit music playing. So it's requred so that the amplifier turns on only when the ignition is in the ON position.

Alternatively get a cctv power supply. They are dirt cheap and a little easier to work with. Get one with the right amps for your amplifier. hello I tried this out and it worked half way when i plug the suppply to the power it blinks and goes off again is it because of the switch or what might be the problem

check that you have sorted the "remote" for the power supply as well as the amp. You can short it or put a switch between the remote cable and a black wire. Be safe though, stima haitambui experiment. Make sure you have double checked all your connections before plugging into the mains

Yes you can but it will shut down immediately that 12 Amps is not enough. For example if you increase the volume too much on a bass heavy track

It will but it'll be underpowered meaning that the power supply will shut Itself down when the amplifier demands more than 11A

What if My aplifier has 2 25A fuses?Does that mean it actually needs 50A to run at max power or its just 25A with the second fuse as a safeguard?

That's just the maximum rating for the fuses to blow. It sort of means that if it draws 25A or more then there is something wrong with the amp. So even a lower rating power supply will work.
