Hello mate.Do you remember what cable thicknes you used, and how much was the cable lenght to go from the engine bay to the battery location?I am planning to relocate my battery, but not sure what cable and lenght to use..

Thank god you used a circuit breaker. And nice idea on the junction block

you are a lifesaver
@brad63088 жыл бұрын
Is the breaker necessary ? I'm sure for only racing purposes. Oem fuse box should have a main breaker. I guess the breaker would be good if something happens from the trunk to the firewall
@MSkoops8 жыл бұрын
Depends on you're tracks safety regulations. Since it's in the trunk, you may even have to have an emergency cutoff switch as well.

+M. Skoops yeh I figured, don't think I'll be using one. Just going to move the battery to the back and step up the wire size since its traveling a longer distance

Great job. Where would you recommend grounding an amp on the trunk? I only have 18 inch length cables and have access to the wheel well area or below the carpet

Did you route the Ground wire from the battery back to the block? or just to the frame in the trunk?
@MSkoops8 жыл бұрын
Bosco Li Battery is grounded to the frame in the trunk. The previous ground from the engine bay was grounded to the frame aswell.

Thanks! Debating whether to notch a hole at the factory location for the intercooler piping this time (or bent the AC and PS lines). I did the later last swap and it worked but I wanted to make it look more clean this time around.

you're pretty good. I was thinking about getting a sc300 but I've been debating about it. how's the mpg? Well you're a beast looking forward to your build. Keep it up dude.
@MSkoops9 жыл бұрын
The mpg is quite low and the car being so fun to drive, it burns even quicker. On average you'll get 20. I'm glad you've enjoyed the series, more to come!

Hey man, I'm a recent subscriber to your channel and I'm enjoying the content you're posting; everything is very informative. My only piece of constructive criticism is maybe you can look into improving your microphone. It seems that you're more of a soft-spoken person, I have the same problem myself and think the change will greatly improve your videos by allowing you to speak normally while ending up with better vocal clarity for your viewers. I also have one question for you regarding your wire gauges: how do you determine the proper gauge for the positive and negative terminals for your battery wiring? I'm looking into improving my vehicle's wiring as well (2001 Toyota Highlander) and I can't seem to find any relative advice. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Si Yu'os Må'ase from Guam!
@MSkoops7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the honest input, and my vocals are in definite need of improvement. I determine the gauge by wire type ie. welding cable, copper clad aluminum(CCA), or battery cabling. Welding wire is good at 2 and cca and battery is good at 0. I prefer the welding cable due to low voltage drop over long distances and its flexibility. That's just what I have seen to be popular opinion on the internet. It's been over a year since my relocation and have had 0 problems.

Hey man, great video! Cant believe I am only just coming across it now! I have a question as I am about to do this on my 2J... Did you use 2awg welding wire for the ground as well?
