Hi Luke, 10:47 saw the flowers this was a tragic incident where an ambulance collided with a stationery cement lorry parked in the lay by during the night of January 5 2022. One female ambulance person was fatal kill one male was taken in a life threatening condition long recovery and one male trainee paramedic suffered head injuries. Very sad they came off the wrong exit they wanted the one after but mistook this one for Sevenoaks Weald.
@chubbs67592 жыл бұрын
There was a young women and friends I believe did the same on the A47 near Norwich, mistaken the layby for a slip road and ran up the back of a truck at night.

Used to make me chuckle when driving to Batts Combe quarry in Cheddar It’s a narrow lane that goes up to the quarry through the top of the village past a number of houses You would get disapproving looks from pedestrians and car drivers from the passing tippers and bulk tipper artics etc, it was a fairly busy old site with a lot of traffic using not a lot of road The quarry has been there since the ‘early 20th century’ so it predates all the people living there, and they chose to live there - after all! Like people who move near to Castle Combe racetrack and then complain about the noise on Sunday afternoons! Only response is Foxtrot Oscar!

Good to see you were not tempted to get food from the burger van in that layby. Well done Luke. Some of these drivers just drive to the end of their bonnet. No vision of their surrounding space. Great vid. Stay safe and take care.

As a US driver it still amazes me that the UK has maintained roads that are not a standard two lanes wide for two-way traffic with large vehicle access. And no lines or road edge markers either. I'd need a heart monitor to drive there at night, but it's just another day for you locals.
@JK50with102 жыл бұрын
This is the main problem I see with driverless cars in the UK. On a lot of smaller country roads, you have to have drive on the grass when you meet an oncomoing vehicle. Not sure how lane keeping AI is going to cope with this atleast in the near term.
@iplayzthegames69682 жыл бұрын
Honestly I hadn't even considered them to be a weird thing. Basically every road in my village is narrow enough that you can only just squeeze two cars past. The bus comes through and usually has to mount the curb to get through. And unless you take the main road out the village it's all narrow back roads with a 60mph limit

I enjoyed your video very much. I am a long-retired Police Officer who held a Grade 1 Police Driving Qualification for many years. It seems incredible to me that here in the U.K. we still only teach people just enough to pass a test - even if it takes multiple attempts! I thought I could drive until I took the Police Driving Course. I learned so much! It’s a pity that new drivers are not required to complete a much more comprehensive course before they are allowed on the road. Perhaps the ‘Advanced’ course should become the norm. Safe travels.
