Car Boot Sale / Charity Shop Haul #38
APOLOGIES FOR THE NOISE OF RAIN ON THE METAL ROOF OF THE TAT SHED / KOLA CABANA.
Quick sample from my recent car boot sale / charity shop pick ups and a little pep talk on taking control of your income as a part time reseller. You can't rely on bonuses and pay rises from your employer, but you can take control of earning extra cash from reselling. Time to take control.
My uploads are sporadic at the moment so hit the bell icon so you don't miss my return.
If you are new to the channel, I make extra money online by selling used electronics, retro gaming, cameras, antiques, clothes and shoes eBay ; I'll buy and sell it all!
Tips, tricks and things to be on the look out for when sourcing (BOLOs - Be On the Look Out).
Invest some time in your reselling education - what did I buy and WHY? Understand WHY I make the decisions I do, work SMART, not hard.
In between my uploads I'd suggest you fill the void and watch the most excellent Chris Passey - / @planet_passey
and also follow these lovely folk over on Instagram:

Good to see you back mate. Basic unedited vids are just as good as high production value ones in my opinion. Keep it real brother 👍

@@ABLReselling - Cheers Dave, good to hear. I need to minimise the barriers to getting vids out, so I think fancy editing is now thrown out of the window. Stay safe!

Great video, and great knowledge, as a part time seller do you think it would be more time savvy dealing with your current death pile as opposed to buying more. The time saved sourcing could help with the margins. Hope you have a great day Simon

@@thegentlemanmarketeer - Oh yes, dealing with the death pile would be sensible, but I do love a car boot and I have massive FOMO if I don’t go. However I have put a lot of restrictions on my purchases so minimising my buys to bigger money makers only. A few silly buys sneak through but I’m generally pretty good at only buying bangers. It’s hard leaving items in the table knowing I could make £15-20 on it, but I’m getting better at walking by and leaving them there.

Great tips on quality indicators. I’m part time too and focus on quality only combined with sell through. It does mean more time to source but that’s the enjoyable bit anyway. Look forward to the next one!

Some great pick ups - nice to see a video from you. again. I only work part-time selling on eBay to fund holidays and back up for car repairs as I want to enjoy time with my family but run it properly as a business and pay taxes.

@@liannehill748 - Snap! When I started it did become a significant proportion of my income, but with progressing on my day job, I am far less reliant on the eBay income now. Same as you, it now helps pay towards luxuries rather than day to day life, such as nice accommodation for holidays, adding to the weekly food shop budget so I can nicer wine, towards a new patio, and of course it pays for the small loan I had to take when I bought the sports car. Part time or not we both run it as a proper business, hopefully these vids will help others make better buying decisions and make bigger profits. I do enjoy making these vids, love being able to share knowledge, but still struggling with juggling time and priorities!!!

The footwear here is most excellent, and the sort of thing where if you're in the know you're quids in, but your average punter likely wouldn't know better and opt for the shiny magpie Nikes instead. Selling Walking boots > Trainers every day for me. I do need to avoid picking up lower value stuff, for the reasons you provided regarding time spent preparing it for resale, but I guess I'm a sucker for diecast vehicles and they're seldom worth a significant amount when found out and about.

@@Planet_Passey - Yep walking boots all the way. I couldn’t tell you the last time I bought some Nike trainers. They are usually knackered or fake, or both🤣. I couldn’t do this full time with my level of pickiness, but it works well as a side hustle. I’m a sucker for a HotWheels too, the collection has grown and I put the blame at your door!!!

Lee what % do you use to promote thanks.
@KOLAFlipper
@KOLAFlipper 2 ай бұрын
@@kdad-00 - varies on the item, if it’s a common item where the market is saturated and lots of competition, then maybe as high as 7%. For rarer items or something that people are specifically looking for (E.g. a Dualit toaster) then I might only go to 2%. I never use the suggested promo rate, I had an item recently when eBay suggested I promote at 25.6%!!!! No chance!
