Unlike the other commenter, I sleep better when the bed is warm and the air has a little nip to it. Without air conditioning, I can barely get to sleep before not long before sun-up in the summer time. I'm just not sure an electric blanket is good for you, long term. Anyway, either because of that phobia, or for whatever reason, I was never really, truly comfortable with an electric blanket. Seemed like it went from too hot to too cold.

Your only talking about the output side of that equation. While 1KW of electricity can be converted to 1kw of heat energy, you have to consider the power density. He's got a 80lb battery pack that holds around 2kw, which is 2kw of heat energy. a single 4 oz isobutane canister which weighs a few oz has more energy than that. The video you reference, while a good video, is also under the assumption that accessibility to either energy source is not limited. Just because you can use your cell phone energy to boil a cup of water doesn't mean you should, especially if then you will have no energy for your cell phone.

Hey there... If I remember correctly from the past,,, Electric blankets aren't supposed to have a lot of weight on them when powered. They are supposed to go over people, not the other way around. One of the waste products of burning propane is water. Humidity will increase the longer you have the heater on... Or when using a propane stove. Sometimes it condenses on the metal above the headliner especially when really cold. Black mold can make a home. Stay safe and warm
@TolbersCamping Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve never slept on top of a heater blanket but worked great. I agree though it’s probably not meant for it, just a trial thing for me. Yes propane does create quiet a bit of moisture, but just like after you take a shower you turn on the fan to pull all the moisture out you can start your vehicle and run the heat with ac on for a few minutes to do the same thing as you see I did in this video. Thanks for watching!
@macdaddykwm1 Жыл бұрын
@@TolbersCamping Electric blankest also not supposed to be folded over on to themselves. This can create hot spots where one wire crosses another. Another thing is the extension cord for the hot plate. Something this high of wattage should not be attached to an extension cord. Especially one that is under a floor mat with no protection. There are reasons people burn down their houses in the winter. Most of which are related to stressing electrical systems beyond their design intent.

If it can’t find/see it consider attaching a gps or AirTag to help with its recovery if needed. 😊

The video was great including the wide angle clip. Your portable cabin is getting cooler every time. That burner isn’t really worth it if you think about it. Get a sherpa blanket any kind. They will definately keep the warmth in. I take a few different blankets with me. God Bless.

Thanks bro, it can be hard to get everything I want on video sometimes so that wide shot should help.

@@TolbersCamping it does and will probably capture the cosiness inside the van even better. Could you tell me what magnets you bought, the strengths.. looking for an awning myself, and how too attach it.

Nostalgia Mymini noodle cooker and griddle is 260 watts. It would be perfect for van cooking.

Great video! You can use a smaller heated blanket. Trust me, it still works and it doesn’t pull as much from your battery

But then you’ll only have heat on one side of your body! 🥶 I’d prefer a larger blanket and use a lower heat setting at night.
