I'm from N. California and did recognize many of the camera shots along the HWY. And you're right HWY 1 has some really windy places to drive, so folks need to take it slow and not hurry. I enjoy going on hikes and also bask in the glory of the redwoods with all their surrounding fauna and flora. California has lots of diverse climates and topography geared toward seasonal exploration. I enjoyed watching the areas you visited and hoping you'll return to explore more. Looking forward to more of your videos!

Found your channel from being subscribed to Nikki's - you are both amazing inspirations both for living on the road and just life in general. Working on building out a box truck myself, so I can retire to on the road living. Watched so many videos on build outs and van life, truly appreciate how much time and effort you and others put into your videos. one more thing, you don't need makeup - you are beautiful.

I used to live in the Avenue of the Giants, in northern California. I think that may be the most accessible area to see giant redwoods for those not able to hike rougher terrain. There are trails, but it's mostly level ground. There are just a lot of really big trees in a concentrated area. It can be very touristy though, so might have more people than some would want.

Hello Sarah, I love all your videos. I just recently did a road trip from LA, up California through Oregon , Washington State and into Canada and back home to LA. Oregon was such a beautiful drive. Don't forget to stop by the Tillamook Creamery in Oregon. Hopefully you'll continue the drive up into Washinton and see Olympic Nat'l Park and into Canada as I did. Vancouver and Victoria are a must see. Looking forward to see the next leg of your trip.

The CA redwoods are gorgeous. I love Prairie Creek State Park. You were lucky to get some sun this time of year. Summers are usually foggy, wet, and cool. It's a rainforest climate.

As a native Oregonian, it's Or-e-gun. If you're continuing up Hwy 101, take some time at Boardman Park in the Bandon area. It was on the original list of National Parks and was one of the last crossed off the list. It's spectacular. Cape Perpetua area is also stunning (be sure to go to the lookout and walk the trail to the stone shelter overlook. You can see over 300 miles out to sea.

Whenever my plan gets sidetracked or fully derailed, I try to remember and stay accepting that things happen for a reason and that I may never learn that reason. A cheap spray bottle with vinegar or with a mix of vinegar and water would likely help with your dish cleaning. (You can also use the vinegar and water to clean your windows!)
@aprilcoxxx966 ай бұрын
Whenever you buy canned food to eat on you should warm up the food in a microwave bowl at places that has access to any outlets that has microwaves plug up in the walls. And you could buy a case of water and use some bottles to wash the dishes with besides licking them.

So happy for you that you finally made a channel. I would watch even if I'd never seen one of your cousins vids. Subscribed right away. Doing great. I'm Californian born and raised. I've traveled all these roads you're doing many many times. Plus most of the highways across America. Love seeing your travels. Thank you for sharing them with us. I worry though for your safety. Don't know how you feel about the second amendment but I do believe in the abc's (always be carrying). I would urge you to go get some professional firearms training -and I'd pitch in, as I'm sure many viewers would, to help pay for that training. Let us know when you're ready and where to send the donations.

Great video! Be careful at trailheads on the west coast, anything in view can be enticing and everything can be cleared out in just a few minutes. I would recommend keeping all your window covers up when leaving or the back with a curtain behind the front seats. It’s scary when you live in there and you can possibly have everything you own gone in an instant. Happy traveling!

Welcome to Ore-GON! Lol For Hiking I recommend Beacon Rock , its in the Washington side but has great views of Oregon across the Columbia River and its not far from Multnomah Falls. Lots of waterfalls along the Old Columbia River Hwy, too. And of course if you want dryer conditions, Bend area offers alot of hiking and lakes, Waldo lake being one of the clearest lakes. Our coast line is the best too! Enjoy!!!!

I'm not sure, but if you stayed at Trinidad, you can stay longer, they just don't want people "living" there. The Sequoia Park Zoo is also a great stop. It's in Eureka. Anywho, love the Redwoods! one thing i learned while backpacking the AT, was to clean your dishes put a little water in your bowl use your spoon to scrape the left overs off the sides, drink the water (i know that sounds gross but its not actually bad) and then use a wipe or a paper towel to finish off the cleaning

If you play an instrument you can go to Guitar Center to play for free. They're all over the country. If you want something hot and fresh once in a while you can get a little bag of pre-lit charcoal for less than 8 and grill a bunch of veg and meat at a local empty park grill, throw out all your garbage/bones when you leave and have leftovers for 2 plus days. A small bag of charcoal could do 2-4 grill sessions. The part I can't figure out is when it gets hot how to keep the bugs/nosy weirdo's out and windows down. That is a problem.
@2fathomsdeeper6 ай бұрын
Better yet! Walmart has disposable charcoal grills for about $9. They will do up a box of brats (14). You can just set them on one of those cast iron picnic grills and not have to worry about the nasty grates. They burn for about 2 hours. For brats and hot dogs, use bamboo skewers for less mess as you can just burn them on the grill once done. I always carry one in the car for impromptu picnics.
