Moral of this story. Yes auditing filming is legal from a public area, yes flying a drone over businesses premises is legal if a no fly zone isn’t in place because no one owns the air space, but no you shouldn’t just go inside someone’s premises and start filming without asking permission first, and always show courtesy even if what your doing is legal. Being courteous and respectful of other people isn’t that hard is it?🤔

As a photographer myself and whilst what the guy in the Range Rover did and possibly others too, was wrong and i'm sure very scary. I can't help but see that this was caused by a simple lack of manners. If I want to photograph a business, especially in and on their premises, I would ask their permission first out of pure courtesy and manners, especially if i was planning on putting it online. You might not HAVE to, but have the deceny to ask first and it avoids confrontation.
