now just add 2 fire extinguishers ,10L of water, a bottle of coolant, jack stands, 5L of oil and a smattering of others and you've got what's in my car easy to fix and easy to break the price you pay when you own a 55 year old British classic😂😂😂

What British classic would that be?

No jump cables? I would have figured the cold there kills batteries just as quick as the heat here in AZ does. Also, add a set of wheel chocks. 2 is fine. Don't do the folding or plastic ones. They're brittle crap. The best ones I've found are the heavy duty rubber or laminated ones that have a concave face. They don't slide around when you jack the car.

I've got a decent set of cables, but I would like to add a booster pack as well. I need to find a small one that's actually decent and not made entirely of marketing. Any suggestions? I don't carry chocks because of the space penalty (this is an Eclipse, for an F-250), and here in Michigan you can always find a log or a rock on the side of a road.

@@ChaoticGoodChris - Most boosters I've seen are either too expensive for how little use they'll get, or are just crap with fictional specs. If you do get one, get one which uses sealed lead-acid batteries. They'll hold a charge for long periods of time, and most (make sure) can plug-in to and trickle charge with both 12vdc/120vac. The problem with these are that they're big, and good ones with real specs are expensive. The Lipo based ones are small, light and cheap, but they have all the problems associated with Lipo storage, charging requirements, self discharging, etc... Something they don't tell you. Also don't expect to get more than just a few uses out of it. Repeatedly pulling huge amounts of current from a Lipo, which it will gladly try to supply, will damage the battery if it's not rated for it. (Que: Fake marketing ratings, so probably not). They are ok if you know in advance that you need it, and you have18 hours to charge it just before use, but not so great if you're stuck someplace and can't remember when you last plugged it in. You can't charge it up, stick it in your trunk, and expect it to work in 3 - 4 months. Also stay away from the ones with electronic features like A/C and USB outlets. I've owned 4 different brands of Lipo based boosters, and they weren't cheap ones either. I got them to use as portable 120VAC sources so I could use an adapter to power DSLR cameras rather than use the in-camera battery. The electronics in all of them failed within the first few uses.

Why am i not surprised to find you carry a beast of a medical jumpbag?... I bet the basic workings and repair of the human body have always just made sense to you, just like with machines...

Blanket? Probably one in the med kit, but worth mentioning. I carry an old automatic center punch. Easy way to break window glass if needed, and hey, center punch. No need for one of those otherwise useless hammer/seatbelt cutter things that can't even effectively break the window, just use a regular EDC knife if you need to cut something. I've also got a tire inflater pump, a battery cable →12V outlet adapter for it (with separate fuse) to avoid risking blowing the accessory fuse when the pump starts, and a decent pressure gauge (dial type, not the crappy slider ones). Also an OBD scan tool and a spare CR2032 battery for the ignition key fob. Modern push-start cars won't start if the key battery is dead, and almost all of them take a CR2032.

Lots of stuff... I was going to say you were missing jumper cables/jumper pack but you commented on it below. There are some jumper packs you can get now the can last a bit longer but shouldn't be left in the car during the hot/cold if you want them to last long. The other things I would suggest would be a tire inflator (e g. Viair series like 87p/88p). A fire extinguisher in the car also. Besides a shovel, I used to have a bag of kitty litter in the car to put down on ice to provide traction. And the best thing is a small bag of snacks ( granola bars, m&m etc) in the glove box for emergencies...

Whats reck gas?
@ChaoticGoodChris
@ChaoticGoodChris 3 жыл бұрын
"Rec" Gas. Recreational Gas (mainly used for boats and such, things that have to sit idle for a long time without starting). It's just gas with zero Ethanol in it. It makes it stay fresh longer and doesn't do the damage to your hoses and such that regular pump gas does. Rec Gas is awesome.

Here in Tuscany (Italy) there is no need to carry almost anything, because wherever you are, you are always close to a shop, a service center, a doctor. You just need to know how to change a tire and you are safe. Anyway, nice video, nice car 😃

couple things worth adding little altoids tin with a couple blade fuses in wire coat hanger (or a little roll of bailing or allu wire) when you drive past someone and there staring at a storm drain despondently youll know why you need it works great for fabricobling muffler brackets in a pinch too as well as poking the unlock button in cars and finally this ones more fist aid but bottle of lucazade (or other high sugar drink) unopened if someone been in a crash (only if there otherwise safe and mobile just shook up) tell them to go sit down somewhere safe and drink it

Oh, this takes me back. The main martial arts usenet group many years ago got some of the members together to write a general "self defence" thing that didn't just deal with self defence as in fighting but as all round protection, which included in the car and even gardening. For the car we emphasised having an uptodate map, something I still do even with GPS because you never know if the GPS will crap out and it is easier to show somebody directions with a map, something designed to cut a seatbelt and cat litter amongst other things. The cat litter is handy to have as it packs small and provides a good grip surface if you are stuck in mud or snow.
