And they STILL won't pay a collision shop properly even when they do pay. I had an estimate on March '24. The insurance appraiser paid for the damage, but I was shocked to see a labor rate of $45/hr...in '24!. Mechanic shops are getting 90-110 at independents and 120-180 at the dealerships.

Yeah we have to constantly deal with the labor rate dilema. It’s so bad and they are living in the 80-90s labor rates, although their rates keep climbing.

Insurance is one of the biggest scams, it's terrible and incredibly unfortunate how much my and I am sure other people's insurance have increased so much, like wtf man. If your insurance company has commercials running 4 times per hour on every channel, you might want to do a deep dive or look elsewhere. None are perfect but dont just look at the cost but ask ppl about their experiences when submitting claims.

That is true although the driveshaft rubbing on the bracket made the noise unbearable. Also it’s still an accident regardless and customer out in an aim. Their job is to pay for it especially when what they paid for was directly underbody damage like the rest of the damaged parts.

for me insurance is just a cop bribe so you don't get pulled over and towed. Minimum coverage in B.C is $200k liability which doesn't do much these days. It's just a bribe, a tax, whatever

I'm in europe, and my insurance doesn't even let me pick how much coverage I want. I am all-risk insured + an additional occupants' insurance. To third parties I am insured for up to 2,5m for property damage, and 6,1m for "damage" to people. For damage, I cause to myself, I am covered for the value of the car + 1 million for car's occupants (I assume hospital bills / funeral)
