He's an old school gamer and hasn't adjusted to keyboard flying in new games! I know because I'm almost the same as him and only a couple years younger than him and equally terrible at keyboard flying in GTA xD (if you can find any details check out Microsoft Fighter Ace, that's the game I spent hours flying without rudder controls!)
