The facebook killer was brought up to combat the private party sale vs trade value and trade value is DESIGNED to be lower because the dealership has to pay to have the vehicle inspected and reconditioned before retailing it to MAKE A PROFIT(spoiler). Lastly, if insurance would pay more than trade value, why does GAP insurance exist?

@@chrispeaks7393 The only morons here are you and Andy. The car is overpriced if you purchased the car from someone like Andy. The Facebook killer was brought up to create an unreasonable fear from selling a car private party. Yes, the dealership needs to recondition the car and that’s the difference between private party and trade in value. The dealership uses the ACV when adding the car to its inventory books. The insurance company uses ACV when paying out a claim which is higher than trade in value (spoiler). Lastly insurance does pay more than trade in value. Insurance pays ACV. GAP insurance is needed when someone buys a new car and this new car deprecates when you drive it off the lot, or if someone is an idiot and they buy a used car for more than it’s worth.

What about accidents or incidents that don't total out car but still appear on it's history report? That type of stuff won't effects it's value either, right? ACV and trade value are damn near identical these days. With all the information out there and the new inventory shortage you'd be lucky to hold $500 on a trade. You clearly aren't selling in this market and probably haven't sold before. Let me guess... you were a lot porter that used to hang out at the sales desk too much. Go get a bus pass a stfu.

In reference to 8:20 , asking "do you mean other dealerships or private sellers" can be too open ended of a question. Note how Andy specifically asked for *confirmation from the client that their desired $14k price are private seller listings rather than asking the question of whether the price was from x or y. If the answer from the client is unfavourable, the whole "hassle of selling the vehicle" argument becomes useless. Great video

His delivery is to cocky and you can’t make the customer feel they haven’t won, or perceive they didn’t get something that looks like a good deal. This may work on a 20 year old kid, but you’re not gonna convince an engineer, a Doctor or someone of intelligence to do lay down. Some of the stuff he said is really really applicable and is truthful. You have to deliver it the right way.

Why should i give you that?” Or, “You can sell the car on your own with that price for retail. Would kicking the trade and just selling the new car without the trade work more? Or always have them trade it in? Like what I’ve seen recently is carmax or carvana are offering ridiculous trade in offers we can’t get too so if we can’t match it just kick the trade?

Not andy, but I've saved a deal or two by doing a quick carvana quote for them. You're right, they are paying silly money but it's kind of calmed down and doesn't really get much more last I checked. Rarely, not often will this get you anywhere. Sell the convenience.
