Car Stealth Camping and Barcelona Daytrip

Putting my Micro Car Camper to proper use with two nights stealth camping near Manchester Airport and a daytrip to Barcelona in Spain.

Doesn't sound like the plot for a great video, but you make it work wonderfully well Pat because of your honest, down-to-earth style and your youthful enthusiasm. with regard to being in the car and in possession of the keys, as I understand it in order to be charged the police have to prove “intention to drive“ if you have the vehicle set up in such a way that it would not be possible to drive it in that configuration then you should be okay, but I have no legal expertise and what I’ve quoted is just “hearsay“ I lived for around nine years in a large motorhome, I always turn the seats round so they weren’t facing a driving position and lowered the bed so it was impossible to use the vehicle for Travelbefore I started having a drink. It’s nice to see you back on KZbin Patrick, I’ve always liked your style. I would like to see the return of the underground adventures! Thank you for everything, Peter.

Hi Peter, yes drink and been in a car seems a very grey area and with some of the comments on here it is very risky to be in a car with the keys, after a drink, no matter where you are, so to be on the safe side I won't be drinking much when car camping...... thanks Pat

I have heard that they will arrest you no matter, and then its your job to prove otherwise in court in case they left you. Then you changed everything back, drove home, and crashed or caused an accident! The police won't take that chance. It's crazy because of the camper van/Caravan situation. I have done it once and slept there all night. I only had a few with the intention of telling them I had lost my keys hiking! And would go look in the morning or phone Green flag! Not sure I would have got away with it? Hid keys under a rock nearby incase they searched car, but you will get arrested if they find keys. You might get away with it in court, especially because you tubers have video evidence, but it's the hassle of court and being arrested!

They will smash the window if it's a car, they might not do it in a van but in a car you can see torchlight

If you're asleep in a car with blacked out windows no one can see you. What law says a policeman can break into a car? If it's involved in a crime they can or if it's a rescue attempt they can but they can't just go around smashing car windows willy-nilly. As long as the car's road legal and parked legally there's jack schitt they can do.
