The problem with the factory Honda VFD displays is the power boards. The caps leak and can short out/damage the boards, a simple recap if they aren’t totally burned up is all that’s required
@upir_upir2 ай бұрын
Thank you for providing the details. If you can fix the gauges with replacing capacitors, perhaps you can use this VFD display to show some additional data.

The green squares could turn black when "going down" , but the black vertical lines should turn green so you can stil see the whole gauge.

Yes, there are multiple ways how to draw those gauges, this approach was the simplest, but I´m sure it could be expanded to look better. Thank you for your comment!

Great works! 👍 The video cover aspects such as the hardware used, including the Arduino board and the VFD display module, as well as the software and libraries needed for programming and configuring the display. Additionally, it could discuss any challenges faced during the development process and how they were overcome. Overall, the video aims to showcase the creation of a custom instrument cluster using these components.

@upir_upir2 ай бұрын
The 1986 300zx is my favorite digital dash, one day I would like to recreate it! Anyway, looks like most VFD problems are usually with power supply and capacitors, so it could be possible to fix if something goes wrong..
