I found this Car Visor Organizer at Walmart months ago and I thought I'd give it a shot. Well, from that point on this thing has been in my car and carrying some basic everyday carry (EDC) items for me. This one works for me - it holds what I need it to and it didn't cost a ton. Maybe you can organize your gear with one - check it out!

That's a pretty cool idea. I have an small pouch that I keep in my glove box with all my edc gear, but I never thought to having the visor. That is handy because it's a lot closer access if you need something from there. Thanks for the tip!

Great idea, I have a pen style ferro rod, so that would be a great addition.

Man that is awesome i gotta say. My single visor strap is stretched out even when not crammed with crap that seems to fall at will. Its these simple things that just make the days easier. Thanks peace.

Great video. I use something similar, with sunglasses and extra readers on the front and tools underneath. We all have extra stuff so this is a good place to put some of it.

Also the EDC visor makes your gear more visible to people walking by. Uping the likelihood of you car getting broken into!!

Just curious don't you think having that facing down invites people to want to break in and take stuff from your car?

Curious where those items will be after a major accident and what they'll take to get there.

What about someone walking by your car, seeing your gear, popping your window, and stealing your stuff? Where I live this system would not work.

You should really put the EDC organizer on the front passenger side sun visor if your diving alone. Because if you have an accident your EDC items could hit you(the driver) in the face doing serious harm!!

How will extreme heat of the vehicle and extreme cold affect such tools? Weathering, usability and such. I feel like this would tax the steel.
@gerryadams1008
@gerryadams1008 7 жыл бұрын
Ken M It's inside, out of the weather. Mine was up almost 20 years in a Jeep until the aftermarket holder gave out. Everything was as serviceable as the day I first put them there. It'd have to be awfully hot/cold to tax steel.

Makes sense, I guess I was over reacting. Did you ever burn yourself like a hot steering wheel? I'm weighing pros and cons, making modifications so thanks! Ideas and input always helps.. :)
@gerryadams1008
@gerryadams1008 7 жыл бұрын
Ken M Sure, steering wheels get hot, but if wrapped you should be able to habdle the heat. To me, after parked in Sonoran heat, it requires opening doors in order to ventilate before getting inside. You aren't going to boil water, but it feels like it! Also, cars parked in desert heat need ventilation to handle heated expanding air. If you have nothing at risk of theft inside you can leave windows down. Reflectors for the windshield really do reduce interior heat by several degrees. I leave my widows up and rely on other ventilation, and reflectors. Canine cops and coroners often use roof ventilation with blowers. Not quite AC, but in some ways more effective.

high speed risk . a chunk of metal at high speed can easyly bounce and strike you in the face in an accident , also if the police stop you for any reason you would be give them the perfect excuse to search your car and make any excuse to boots their personal arrest quota . also that can make nervous some passegers , i use everyday a organizer with elastic straps of a somewhat better quality but is inside my backpack , also dont put the multitool in them but in a discrete compartment . in my country the police is corrupt and they search for people to take their stuff with legal excuses like "this can be stolen , you must probe that you buy it or you cant retrieve them" this apply to phones , money in your wallet , watches , expensive gadgets like drones and in christmas this expand to raids in houses for any reason or polices controls in the street that search luxury cars . i would put that in other place . maybe a pounch in the pasenger compartment , not under the seat because if they search your vehicle can say that is a concealed weapon or some like that , if you want some thing to protect you , would be a good idea a tool like a L type wheel spanner . and if you carry a gun well im sure that are some local rules that you must obey .

Good idea but I don't like the fact that thieves can see the gear. They've broken windows for much less. Glove box or center console is better imo.

You've said in previous videos that you have an EDC backup system put together and a car emergency survival kit. Do you actually use this organizer you're talking about in addition to everything else you keep in your car? If so, why use it when you have all that other stuff? Don't get me wrong, I do think it's cool, but it's unnecessary.
@EverydayTacticalVids
@EverydayTacticalVids 7 жыл бұрын
Jacob Drosdick fair question - they are in different cars. The bag stays in the trunk only to be used for emergencies. The EDC stuff is for every day use.

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS idea my friend. As an emergency first responder I can attest to many injured persons from visor type storage ideas. The CD holders were the culprit of many large face and fore head lacerations. I highly recommend against this and advise anyone thinking of using this to reconsider. just my 2 cents
@MrBluesluver

Dangerous.... maybe. As a person that has been it two auto crashes in the last 10 years, I can attest that I have been hurt worse by air bags than any other thing in the vehicle. BTW, both times I was rear ended and one of those was in winter on black ice. That one ended up being an eight car pile up and I was about half way in the line. I doubt that a visor holder would have made much difference. Pretty good point, though.

You americans think that you are good preppers you are not.I Will say Why .How will you defend yourself when the angel of death comes to take your soul.There is a way to prep yourself for that and that is to surrender yourself to God completely and honestly.So all that edc is meaningless in the face of death.The best prep=repent believe in God do good deeds and tell people to be truthfully and to be patience
