I kinda want to get a bass uke at some point. I don't want to go too far down that rabbit hole though! I just have a concert ukulele now and have my eyes set on a vintage Martin soprano, one of the simple ones (Style O), but I've always wanted a bass of some sort since before I caught the ukulele bug. I wonder if it's a mistake to try to combine the notion of "bass" with the notion of "ukulele"? I mean, I wonder if I should just get a real bass. One thing I really don't understand though is the obsession with tuners on ukuleles. I mean... there are only 4 strings! It's not at all (at all!) hard to tune. Get the pitch for the first string (or the 4th or whatever) and that's all you need. The rest of the strings are all tuned relative to that. It is really really easy to tune a ukulele, and mine at least stays in tune amazingly well. If yours doesn't come with a tuner, don't fret! *See what I did there. :)

I purchased this bass about a month ago - and loved it. I recently upgraded to a Kala Ebony Striped U-Bass - and I noticed that it was noticeably lower in volume when I plugged it into the same bass amp - The Caramel for whatever reason was a lot hotter - with similar settings - have you ever compared this Caramel to a Kala?

So, did the buzz go away with a better cord? Also, CAN one put steel strings on it?

Does yours plow through batteries the same way mine does?
