@gmodman999 the caramelldasen dance is usually shown with anime characters and anime conventions (im guessing convensions) also part of the lyrics sounds like its saying japan eat a hand so what do you expect

try going into the option menu and then put the game type to dance instead of pump. hope this helps. i havn't played regular stepmania in years.. ive had an ITG theme for my version of SM

My friend plays with the arrow keys but I now another guy who uses 8-4-6-2 on the numpad. I believe it can be set in the options what buttons you want to use. I could be wrong since I've never played it, but those are the two sets of controls I've seen, you can probably used WASD as well.

I already had the folder containing the files within a group folder of it's own, within the songs folder in stepmania. I have no idea why it's still not reading... The odd thing is, when I go to the editing song feature of stepmania and i can change certain steps or tempo or freezes, I can find the song there. But, when I go to play in the actual arcade type mode, the song is not even listed in the folder I designated it to...

@kirchyking it depends on the artist that made them and diff genres have different meanings but if you go to the begining of it all the origional anime guys saw alot of disney movies took some influence from that since the eyes are big in disny movies too but it evolved to what it is now bigger or more detailed etc like i said depending on the preference of the creator.

you can use the keyboard (lame IMO, but it works) You can also use any game controller/joystick/game pad/dance pad/etc. that is compatible with your computer.

You aren't bad at Stepmania. I know no-one who could full combo that song. And I know hundreds of people (although only a handful do DDR/Stepmania). On a good day maybe I could, but that was almost 600 steps you hit.
