Killua realized he was still being like his family. Thats why he says he was still under Illumis control. He was trying to protect Alluka but didnt realize he was being like his family and only seeing Something as just that, something that isnt his family. Took him a while to realize that they're both his family that he needs to protect.

There were multiple endings the creator had to end it off, but I don't think he ever properly decided a legit ending. One ending (I think it was ending D) was a future scene where Gon was a grandfather who married a girl on the island, the only other child his age seen there. Family stuff, talking about Hunters and becoming a Hunter with his granddaughter catching the big fish. The granddaughter named Gin or Jin, says she'd never leave the island or become a Hunter because grandpa Gon always left grandmother on the Island to go out and be a Hunter. Not sure if it's the same ending version or one of the others, but a bird or something basically flies across world and it shows all the other characters in their older lives with their own families and what they've achieved. Also, I think I remember seeing that the manga is still going. I'm gonna check it out soon since I never actually read any of it, just watched the anime. Thanks for the vids. I enjoyed rewatching it along with you two. Much love.

It's so strange to realize that Killua ended up as one of the most powerful in the HxH universe while Gon had practically nothing... Not to mention that the path ahead for Gon seems much lonelier than Killua's own.

It is also somewhat curious that the dark creature that Killua now protects is the one that points him towards a bright future... While the brilliant person Gon has always sought, now points him towards a dark direction... or should I say continent? Togashi is a genius

35:17 I still don't understand why the 2011 anime version kept pushing on their agenda that Ging abandoned Gon while it is clearly established in the very 1st chapter of the manga that Ging didn't

In my opinion this is a very surface level interpretation of the manga. I think ging didn't actually want to take gon with him and let mito take him. here's why: ging is shown to be a genius at predicting and controlling other people's actions. it is in fact what he considers success as a hunter. in the election arc he predicts lots of stuff very precisely and controls the pace of the election quite a bit. Therefore, in my opinion, he knew exactly how mito was going to react when he just showed up on the island with a kid and says he wants to take it with him on his adventures. I think he wanted mito to oppose him and try to take gon away from him. Why else would he even show up in the first place? Also ging is incredibly influential. Not just because he is a hunter, but because he is one of the best hunters in the world. He is shown to be able to change someone else's legal name in minutes just with a phone and a computer, even against their own will. In my opinion there is zero chance that ging would lose a court case like this unless he wants to lose. Lastly, ging is known for not caring about rules. If he really couldn't predict mito's reaction (which he absolutely did imo) and couldn't win the court case (which he absolutely could imo), then I think he would just take gon with him anyway. So yeah, I think ging took gon to mito precisely because he knew mito would take gon away from him so he could absolve himself of the responsibility.

If Ging really wanted Mito to take care of Gon on his behalf, he would have just asked Mito do it at the first place...Mito would have obliged readily....He wouldn't have to go in a roundabout way to achieve his goal...It's not that Mito and Ging hate each other that Ging had to do so It's absurd to think that Ging would resort to his " Hunter's way of playing with people's emotion" while dealing with his family....He's not like Silva Zoldyck .....Mito herself confessed to Gon that she lied about Ging abandoning Gon just before Gon was about to board the ship to Hunter Exam...She wouldn't just confess to lying about so if it wasn't the truth....And also Mito's purpose was to stop Gon from moving out to become a hunter like Ging...so she never told even upto the moment Gon left Whale Island that Ging was a hunter.....Gon knowing about Ging not abandoning Gon would further make him more adamant about moving out to become a hunter....That would absolutely not serve Mito's purpose of stopping Gon

@@atriyade5885 absolutely ging would deal with his family in his hunter's way lol. he did it with kite, he does it with gon, it's his default modus operandi. the fact is, if you believe he didn't expect mito to contest guardianship and couldn't have stopped that from happening, you have to actively suspend almost all knowledge we have of how ging thinks, analyzes people's behavior and operates. it would be entirely out of character for him. also, he was clearly preparing for gon to travel alone to find him, before he brought him to mito (see ging manipulating the accompany/magnetic force target, telling razor his son will come here, etc. etc.). he had that planned.
