I love how her split was not really about Kunimi, but rather about her loneliness and how stressed she feels because now she has something (friends) to lose. By the way, one of the reasons that I loved Frieren right off the bat was that she used a voice similar to Futaba's for Frieren's character. (Her normal voice doesn't, to me, sound anything like that. She also voices the little girl Anya in Spy Family. She's very talented.)

FYI, Futaba 双葉 means “two leaves” … so this adolescence syndrome is pretty fitting for her name. 15:58 I love this scene too. ^_^

So, there's a scene from the LN that was left out of this arc. Sakuta wasn't sure how to help Futaba, so he reached out to Fumika Nanjou (reporter in ep. 1) to get some adult advice. She's the one that told him that just confronting Futaba and telling her what she's doing is stupid would be counterproductive since she already knows she's doing something dumb. This is what gave Sakuta the direction he needed when talking to Futaba.

This show can manage well the inner fight of schoolkids. Most kids today and it doesn't care where they come from, bearing a lot on this tiny shoulders. When you become older, you can laugh to the past, but not when exactly this moments happen. A dear friend of mine happend kinda like this, instead of hating the people she start to develope a hate against herself.

@@javierflores09 What exactly is the point of letting the hype die down before you start reading it? It is getting a lot of hype right now but how do you know it's over hyped if you've never read it?

@@Stonewielder because when a manga is this hyped, it often leads to expectations which I don't want to have while reading something new, even if I don't want to fall trap of these expectations, I'll subconsciously hold it to a higher standard and that shouldn't be the case. As for the latter comment, you don't have to read something to know it is overhyped, everyone is talking about that manga, hell even my little brother recommended it to me yesterday, so at least from the social groups I form part of, it is clearly being hyped way more than one would reasonably expect, that doesn't mean it is _overrated_ though, that I cannot say till I have read it.
