Caravaggio, On the Run in Malta

Having killed a man in Rome, Caravaggio fled the city and her authorities that wanted his head. He found refuge amongst the knights of St John in Malta, hoping to pay his debts to the Catholic church by producing extraordinary paintings. This video (which is part of a series) explores Caravaggio's chaotic story and magnificent paintings.

I have just been too busy over the last year and my footage from Sicily is not as good as I hoped. There maybe another installment one day but I cant guarantee it. I'm going simplify every tale, story or long explanations about Caravaggio's violent and irregular life and demise, in JUST ONE STATEMENT. NO ALCOHOL, NO MURDER, NO ESCAPE TO MALTA, NO PROBLEMS IN MALTA, NO SUDDEN DEATH. Over anything else, consumption of alcohol was the real culprit before that simple reasoning got hijacked by tv dramas and intrigue.
