Cheers Phil, I cleaned our caravan pads last year with a tip from Graham the caravan vloggers, put a pad in your drill and let the drill do the turning while holding the wet and dry with the other hand works a treat, I didn’t know about the o ring thing though thanks for that Phil, 👍👍.

Hi BB. I know there are lots tips on the friction pads. I recorded this last year and was about to put it out when 4 other Vloggers did it. I withheld till this year. Yes I was not aware of the O Rings either till they knackered on me😂. By the way the pencil trick does work. Thanks Phil🙂👍

Thanks for another informative video. As yet I haven’t had to replace my pads. I must remember to keep a pencil in the caravan.

Hi Noorman. The o-rings are a bugger to replace. I was luck as I was not aware of the O-Rings but there was a Caravan Engineer on our storage who explained it all to me. Thanks Phil👍🙂

Great video Phil, you're bang right regarding the 0 rings .I had the same problem I messed about for ages trying with various screwdriver etc, and was getting desperate. I then used a pen top that was roughly the same diameter as the ring. Thankfully, it worked a treat. 😂😂😂

Hi Glen. Thanks for watching. Like you I messed around for ages until I got the tip. plus I was unaware of the rings until they fell out. All working now. Enjoy your season. Phil🙂👍

Thanks for the tip in regards to the pencil, after about three attempts where trying to insert using the pencil I realised the o ring would turn to either side each time I found a quicker way but still using the pencil I re inserted the old friction pad and then teased to o ring in with the pencil so it was up against the old pad within the hole then carefully kept teasing the o ring with the pencil all around the o ring whilst very slowly moving the pad backwards until I was next to the groove - I checked everything was ok after pulling out the old pad with a torch placed within the ball hitch recess - hey presto about a minute once I’d sussed this method

Hi Eamonn. I am glad you managed it. I can be a faff until you sus it out. Enjoy your Summer. Thanks Phil👍🙂

Good tips there Phil 👍. Cleaned my pads about five times in 11 years because of creaking. Creaking always stops it once they’re clean. Didn’t know there are O rings in there, must look at them next time I take the pads out. Cheers Rob 😀

Hi Rob n Gail. I guess you would have o rings in the hitch. Hope all is well. Phil & Juliet🙂👍

I remember those o rings 😂😂 never done on mine but I did witness a dealer having a spot of bother with the same issue , he did use some language that I’ve never heard before 😂😂

Hi Gav. Hope all is well. Yes the o rings are a pain in the butt. Took me hours to get the rings in. Thanks Phil🙂👍

Thanks Phil for another good video, do you know if this should be picked up at annual service ?
@lostweekendscaravan8 ай бұрын
Hi Joe. Good question. I have never had it checked when mine was serviced. I would suggest you mention it to the Engineer and they will check it for you. You never see an Engineer check the roof either? Thanks Phil👍🙂

@@lostweekendscaravan thanks again Phil, I will ask at service as I have sausage fingers, I’m not great at fiddly wee jobs like that 👍

Hi Phil, I managed to get my o rings fixed in 2 minutes with the pencil trick, but cant get the frictions pads back in past the o rings, they seem v v tight. Do you have any tips on that please?
@lostweekendscaravan6 ай бұрын
Hi Louise. Glad the pencil worked. They will be tight you just have to carefully force them into position plus make sure handles are fully upright when you do it. Hope that helps. Thanks Phil👍🙂

Isn’t there three parts to the hitch , the top plate that you have to screw in. Am sorry to ask as I’ve mine to change as it grinds when towing.
@lostweekendscaravan8 ай бұрын
HI TT yes there are front, rear and top plate. I didn't film them as they did not need changing. I will record those when I need to replace them. So far so good. Thanks Phil👍🙂
