The charm of the jazz flute is indeed unique. It's different from the classical flute, of course, but it may actually be closer to the Baroque flute. Unlike the refined beauty of the classical flute, the jazz flute is characterized by its improvisation and rhythmic expression. A similarity with the Baroque flute is that both emphasize ornamentation and improvisational performance. Baroque music could be considered the cutting-edge jazz or rock of its time.

Thank you for your detailed comments. You are right, it is indeed similar in essence to improvisation in baroque music. I also play classical music, but since I started playing jazz, I enjoy playing baroque pieces.
