Caravan roof rail repair, it’s been leaking like a !!!!!

Did you use Silkaflex to reseal it or other?

Hi, yes on this occasion sikaflex but normally I use the mastic tape first and then once the rail is secured in place I run a neat bead of sikaflex either side of the rail as an added measure. The tape is the better option but didn’t have any on me at the time, sika did the job fine but I prefer the mastic tape option.

Terrible ''system'' they should be ashamed of themselves as munufacturers - mine doesnt have a rail but about 15 screws and the inside is soaked

You’re right. They still haven’t really improved at all. Build quality is shocking now a days. I’m an NCC approved mobile workshop engineer.
