Looks like I'm going to have to do my own service, seeing I built it 😁🤣, Bearings , brakes , hitch, most important, seen so many caravans on side of road because of lack of servicing, Thanks for showing, informative, Cheers 🤠🦘🦘🇦🇺

Just had my van serviced. I always have it done in March because we are just coming into Spring over here so it is ready for the season. That is normal for the wheels to be taken off to check brake shoes. Our van is in a storage yard and we have a mobile fitter come to do our service. He is also very thorough and gives us peace of mind so van is ready for next trip.

We live in England and our storage is a gate controlled compound on a working farm. It’s a hard standing site and have a key fob for the gate and have unlimited access to the van during day light hours so being only 20 mins drive from our house we can nip down whenever we like to check van over. It has CCTV and is very secure. Storage yards are really common in Britain as houses don’t always the space to park the van. Mobile fitters are common too. They are qualified to do the work and have year dated sticker that goes on the A frame to show a service has been done properly and this keeps any warranty we have in order.

Just to add to your question when we winter our van we just make sure all water is drained bedding and clothes, food is taken home. We leave cupboard doors open and put in dehumidifiers to soak up any damp. Also being on a working farm I have a sonic mouse repeller to keep rodents away. This is wired directly onto the battery with inline fuses so I don’t have to leave the main power switch left on. Solar panel keeps battery topped up no problem so leaving this on 24/7 is fine.

Good idea leaving all the cupboards open for air circulation 👍 draining the tanks is smart, I guess water in a pipe could freeze and expand right? No one wants that haha
