Sullage or grey waste can often comes hand in hand with flow issues, and even system backup. We have a grey water sump that solves that problem

Actually, I was wondering where you got the tank from, thanks again
@Vagare Жыл бұрын
Sorry Heath, missed your message. I bought it at Bunnings years ago

Was wanting to get just the box/tank, where did you buy from, thanks again

Hi, where can I buy the silage sump from, I can’t find any like yours online, thanks
@Vagare2 жыл бұрын
Try eBay, search 12v submersible automatic bilge pump. Should find one around $30aus

I’ve looked everywhere and I can’t find any tubs that are a similar size with a lid. Could you let me know which hardware place you got the tub from?
@Vagare Жыл бұрын
Howdy, I purchased that from Bunnings years ago. The lid isnt critical and any container will do the same job.

So how would your system work with the polly pipe and elbow when at the waste point they have a concrete surround around the wate pipe in the ground or when the waste pipe sticks up out of the drain 75 mm as was the case at the last caravan park i was in? Had to go out and lift waste hose up and drain before using shower/ kitchen sink again
@Vagare Жыл бұрын
Unfortunating when the sewer inlet is higher than ground level theres not much you can do. With those concrete surrounds we sit the end of our sullage pipe right on the edge and prop it with a rock or whatever we can find.

I know what you mean Most of the van parks have exactly the same type of sullage drains as you mention and have to do what you do and go and lift hose up to drain the water

hey, am I getting the impression that you do not have a grey water tank? or in a park are you bypassing the on board tank? Great vids B
@Vagare4 жыл бұрын
Hey Bazz, thanks for the kind words. We have no onboard grey tank, which for many reasons is a choice. We dont skirt our obligations, and on the very rare ocassions it's a requirement we can use our larger water jerry as a temp grey tank for an overnight stop.

Would you give the specification for the joiners? Cant seem to find them. Or are they just barb-to-barb joiners with the barb removed from one side? Or maybe just a bit of tube that happens to fit?
@Vagare2 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul. 25mm barbed polypipe joiners. Not sure where you are from, but in Oz Bunnings hardware have gazillions of them. I ground the barbs down for easy disconnection, you dont need or want them because its only gravity flow

@@Vagare OK, thanks! Thought it might be that. Im from Aus too and have recently been surveying whats available in Bunnings, but Hills Irrigation seems to have low prices and sometimes higher quality. I'm just about to upgrade the under-sink drainage in our van to 32mm smooth bore suction hose, then continue with 25mm smooth bore outside. Can you believe they installed 20mm only inside? No wonder the sink doesn't drain properly. Cheapskates! Anyway, I was looking at using 25mm barb to 25mm captive nut fittings (like a screw-on garden tap fitting for 25mm hose) to join outside to van and to join lengths together. But push-on is cheaper, neater, reliable, and adequate to the task, will probably go that way.

@@paulwary i replumbed my last van with the cheap 25mm polypipe from Bunnings, with all those push in barbed connectors, no clips. Worked really well. Good luck Paul

Can you buy these sullage sumps or did you make it yourself ? - Kind Regards Steve
@Vagare3 жыл бұрын
Made Stephen. $30AUD 12v submersible auto bilge pump on Ebay, $20AUD 10ltr tub from the hardware, plus 24mm polypipe fittings. Hope that helps

Ha, I let the production company CEO know. That was more than 4 years ago and I likely havent got any better. I have a actual job and this isnt it, but ill take it onboard. Question is, did you get any value from it. Cheers
