Thanks Guys. It is a shame that we can't do winter Caravanning but the jobs need to be done. Thanks again. Phil👍🙂

Phil . Regarding the cleaning the inside maybe take a look at carefree caravanning , I worry that trying to clean the inside by swilling the fluid on the inside you are prone to causing damage to the float or even losing a magnet doing so. You can see how simple it can be to remove the top inlet and get inside to see where your going. Keep up the good work and tips

Hello. Re swilling it around if you are careful it will be fine. I have done this over 2 seasons and not had any issues. I think we all have different ways to clean to cassette. I have also picked up a new tip this week by using silicone or olive oil on the seal. Thanks Phil👍🙂

@@lostweekendscaravan yes I use the olive oil on the rubber seals. Going to see if the hot air gun will assist in getting the tape they put around the window openings as I have a couple that have lifted and seen someone use the heat gun method to get it back where it should be in the radius corners. Keep up the videos loving seeing the vast amount of tips. I'm more involved in manufacturing things for the caravan like my own jacking points which I hope I will never have to use although I did when changing a 6 year old tyre and it did exactly as was intended. Only wish I knew how to put a video onto my channel 🤔

Cheers Phil, another job well done mate... 👍🏻 I do this regularly throughout the season, as we do not want to ‘lay up’ over Winter any longer than moving house has forced us to! But I do use silicon based grease for the seal bits (good for caravan type of course!) as that is what our manufacturer recommends. Thanks for keeping us clean, cheers, Rog... ✅ 👍🏻 🐍
@lostweekendscaravan5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rog. Yes a Silicone based grease would be better. I think I may buy some for the new season. Hope you are settled in your new home. Phil🙂👍

lost weekends caravan Cheers Phil, settled? It’s just a word, but we have it all to do again when, if, we ever find a decent place to call home, instead of a rental... 🤷🏼♂️ 🤔 😂

Great demo Phil, we very much do the same, I was told by caravaning friend when we first started out not to use vasoline as over time it can rot the rubber seals, but to use Olive oil instead not sure how true this is but I've always wiped the seals with a little olive oil. Best wishes Jon and Karen
@lostweekendscaravan5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jon. I have heard since Vaseline is probably not best solution. I will have to try olive oil or silicone based products Thanks Phil🙂

HI G&Z. You will have plenty of time to sort it out soon. I have to get industrial sized gloves as my hands are so big. 😂 Thanks for watching Phil🙂

Hi Phil, very informative video as always, can I ask why you use vaseline instead of a silicon wipe on the seal ?
@lostweekendscaravan5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian. I use Vaseline because it doesn't dry out as much as silicone. But everyone else uses Silicone. I have not ad an issue with it and i only use it over the winter period. During usage I use armoural silicone wipes. Hope this helps. Phil👍

Leave the flap in the open position during a long lay off or it will stick to the seal
@lostweekendscaravan5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your suggestion Retro. I did not mention this in the film as I am concerned about putting tension on the mechanism. Also I feel that if you smother the seal in vaseline and keep the flap shut it will not dry out as the air cannot get to it to dry it out. Thanks Phil🙂
@oldsalty495 жыл бұрын
@@lostweekendscaravan Leaving the flap open also helps prevent theft of the cassette. Someone may force the locker door open, but they won't be able to extract the cassette.
@davidnewton32405 жыл бұрын
Don’t use vaseline on seals it can cause them to break down. I would also use puriclean in the toilet as it will get rid of biofilm and milton will not. I would also open the cassette up to get inside which is very easy to do.

Hi David I only se it in winter storage.I use armourall wipes during the spring and summer months. I understand your point as it is the main opinion of most of my viewers. Thanks Phil🙂
