Caravan Window Trim Fix, DIY Guide 🧐 🛠️ 👷‍♂️

I had to replace the whole thing in my caravan centre front window. It was so dry and old and sun damaged. Just unscrew the catches around the window frame and pull the old tape out. As I went around putting the tape in, I figured out you had to pinch the centre so you could get it secure into the rubber on either side. As I went I also put a small hole in it where the screws had to be put back in as you couldn’t tell where the holes were if you went to far. It was quite easy to replace. I’m a 58 year old female and had never done it before.

Glade you were able to replace the original trim, just takes time but looks great in the end. In my other video, I show this being replaced and I used the trim tool, it's optional but speeds up the process.

Perfect timing I've got 2 corners to do but I need to replace the window too, might be easier to wait till I've got no window in

Glad it was of help, remember the silicone part is optional but will help with it not happening again in the future. Depending on the reason for needing to replace the window, if it was letting in water then you might want to remove the trim to allow it to dry out first.

Glad it was of help, just remember once you've heated up the plastic you will need to stretch it before putting it back into place. Also, this won't always resolve the problem, if you find it still keeps shrinking you'll need to replace the complete trim but links to these parts are in the description.

What type / brand of silicone did you use, or is it universal?

Any kind of internal use silicone will be fine, make sure it's in date and you don't need much.

I wonder why they did that, strange thing to do unless it was a job they were about to do before selling. If you ever decide to put them back it's a simple job to do which is good.
