You know what so difficult about this performance (aside from all the obvious) is the snare slow down at 7:15 this seeming easy breakdown is actually the hardest part of the piece. why? because after all that heavy wizardry on the drum, to then tapper off ones muscles to dial back and yet maintain a steady descending and later ascending pace is incredibly difficult. Youl here his timing fall off at times with every other stroke because his muscles are soo amped to just go, to rein them in and tapper off speed is insane.

They had Hollywood level film equipment, angles, film talent, director, story buildup, all those things to make it the climax of the whole movie... and yet.... I have listened to this song more times than I’d like to admit and so i know how it sounds by heart. I am not trying to sound like an asshole but there was just a few spots that felt just a little bit off. On the other hand, I honestly thought this song was humanly impossible to play, I just thought it was like two drummers or something like that, but you absolutely nailed it, GREAT JOB!

Caleb ok look, I’m not gonna get into whether he’s a metal drummer or not cause this is music, it’s supposed to be enjoyed and that’s what this guy made me feel. I enjoyed it and from the other comments, it seems like other people enjoyed it too. I only made the comment “if he’s a jazz or metal drummer” is because his technique kinda looks like a metal drummer and he has a double pedal. Nevertheless, it was good, there are a lot of jazz and gospel chop drummers that are using a lot of metal techniques as well: Benny Greb, Eric Moore, Tony Royster jr and many more. Even George Kollias (probably one of the greatest death metal drummers rn) says that it might be a good idea to learn blast beats, even for jazz drummers because it helps with speed and technique. But hey, that’s just my shpeal, take it with a grain of salt.
