Question Branchair, got a buddy building an ex 2 and he's having the same oil canning problem on the underside of his leading edge skin. Did this disappear when you covered or is it evident after cover, thanks Bruce

You forget all about those little things once you fly. I haven't noticed it at least!

Question: When building an airplane yourself, how to you know that your are doing it right, and what you are doing is airworthy?
@branchair8 жыл бұрын
AC 43.13-1B is all the acceptable method for aircraft building. If you are unsure of something....it will have the answers. Calling the factor is very important as well if you are unsure.

Just wondering ...where did the Just Super STOL go?

Self centering nut plate or a floating nut plate.

Hmm... I understand you wanted them all match predrilled but for 20 years experience as an A&P doing repairs; a pre drilled skin is nothing more than a cute template to use making an undrilled skin. Predrilled holes never match and you have issues with extra holes (just like you did on cap strips), bad edge distance etc... even in the factories the skins are match drilled on the plane. Even factory skins, made in factory jigs don’t seem to fit.

Need to build 3 airplanes to be any good? Oh Lord. Counts me out.

+Manuel Saldivar (Manny) LOL. It's amazing how many things you learn each time you build. The next one is always better that the one before it. It was a multi builder that told me three was the number;-)

branchair...Without a doubt practice makes perfect. You do an amazing job with your builds. Would love to have those skills. Continued success.
