Wet powder impregnation is also called the suspension method, which is to prepare a suspension with volatile non-dissolving liquid and resin powder.
When the continuous carbon fiber passes through the solution, the fiber is well spreaded, and the chemical PEEK/PPS/PEKK resin powder adheres to the fiber surface and between the fiber bundles. The liquid is quickly removed by heating, and finally the prepreg is obtained by hot-melt and pressing roller impregnation.
The dry powder impregnation method uses electrostatic adsorption or gas fluidization to adsorb fiber powder to the fiber bundles and fiber outer surfaces passing through the resin powder area, and then heats and melts them to prepare a thermoplastic unidirectional prepreg tape.
