This solves the sodastream bottle problem but creates another one. You need to keep refilling the container with cold water and ice. It would be a lot better if it had a water inlet and an integrated chiller. But I see how that would make it a lot more expensive.

Appreciate you making this video! I too hate the SodaStream bottles and want it “on tap”. I have been looking for something a little cheaper than a DIY McCann Big Mac but have always been skeptical of how well the cheaper systems work. How has it held up?

Look into the continuous carbonation keg lid by kegland. It's still a big investment since you need all the homebrewing equipment, but looks cheaper and simpler than the Big Mac systems. I'm still doing the old pet bottle method but I'm looking into transitioning to continuous carbonation. What I really wanted to see is how these machines work on the inside.
