The Mercedes GLE Coupe is the sportier, sleeker version of the Mercedes GLE SUV, and is poised to rival the BMW X6 as a sports 4x4.
The Coupe has a lower, more sloping roofline than the standard GLE and has a more rounded design to it too. The engine range is slightly smaller, forgoing the super-efficient hybrid model, but it still has the crazy AMG-tuned version with a massive 5.5-litre V8. We think your best option is the 350d diesel, as it still has plenty of power and is the most economical engine in the range.

I have seen a white GLE coupe in real Life and I think it is better looking than the X6. The front looks more aggressive and the back is a lot more slim than the X6's back. If I had to choose over those two, I would take the GLE. I can't care less if the X6 is better through the corners because an SUV is just about cruising and having a nice comfortable drive.

Not a big fan of the SUV-Coupé look since day 1. Just get a normal GLE or X5. Heck, save some cash and get an estate if the toughest terrain you'll ever encounter on your commute to work is a bunch of speed bumps!

I never liked the look of the original X6. It just didn't look good to me. It was too round, and the headlights made it look to "pretty" and what not. It wasn't very aggressive looking, just very round and bulgy/weird. But when i first saw this thing, i immediately fell in love. It's very sporty, aggressive, and sexy. The looks alone convince you its faster and nicer than the X6 imo.

the first suv coupe/convertible crossover was a heuliez intruder in 1996 and it was based on a mercedes g-wagon with a slk hartop retractable roof and a mercedes v6 engine

Ok everyone says that Mercedes is copying BMW by making the GLE. But remember, Mercedes Benz came up with the idea of making the 4 door coupe when it made the CLS. So technically, BMW copied the idea of the 4 door coupe off Mercedes, but made the X6, which is basically a coupe but just higher.

I am a big Mercedes fan, but I have to say, for this type of car class, I would much rather have the X6. And besides the BMW is also much more good looking than the GLE...pfff BMW started the whole new class with the X6 and I think they still are the best with it. But unfortunately Mercedes need their share of the market as well I guess :p

DANGER- Beware of the software update recall which causes the car to turn off while driving and as Mercedes puts it in there recall notes that if this happens-THE CAR CAN CRASH-and the recall started in July of 2016-and that is exactly what happened to my 2016 GLE450 Coupe on July 14, 2016- the car has 5000 miles and was leased in January of 2016-I had the car towed to the closest dealer for repairs after my wife while entering a parking space at about 3 miles an hour had the car turn off and the car rolled into a post causing $4000 US in damage-the car has been at the dealer for 27 days to date-I assumed Mercedes would handle and pay for all the damages but after waiting a week of no phone calls from either the dealer or the main office in New Jersey I had to start calling and complaining as well as having make a claim with my insurance company to begin repairs-again after weeks of no calls the main office tells me their computer people cannot find an event that caused the car to turn off and they will not be paying for damages-If this same thing had not happened to me while driving I may question my wife and her claim of events but a few weeks prior the car turned off on me while braking at an intersection and luckily there were no cars around me-

Ugliest MB I have ever seen. No you can't be a 4 door coupe with crossover height at the same time. Didn't work for the X6 nor for this, however you can't blame MB for making it, as the X6 sells quite well for BMW.
