What a beautiful old town. I just finished reading Kate Mosse’s Carcasonne Trilogy and after watching this video I want so much to visit Carcasonne. Thank you!

I read this absorbing trilogy when it first came out too - and it motivated me so much to live the magic as well. I am so glad to be able to finally visit Carcassone this June.

Place Carnot was completely renovated in 2021, the market has been moved to a different part of town. An update would be great :)

Well, the pope did actually not „recall his crusaders“. They were just thrown out by the „Saracens“. The army executing the „Albigensians“ crusade against Cathars was a completely different one - actually more than one, as it lasted quite some time. Also, a major player was the French king, who actually was driving the war rather than the pope. Major reasons were power, money, land ownership. Otherwise, a brilliant film, thank you!
