I agree, the 73-74 4 Door Galaxy's are one of my favorite cars, the LTD is too trimmy, the custom is to basic.

Yes they were very handsome 50 yrs ago

@@rogerstlaurent8704 yes I know this matter personally, we had a brown 74 4 door, it was a great car, got replaced with an 87 LTD Crown Vic LX we got new

Ryan O'Neal beats the crap out of one in 'The Driver' (1978) opening scenes and barely utters a word the whole movie. It was laughable how he steals the cars.

yeah I've seen that one lol@@vincemajestyk9497

Took drivers Ed in 1973 and had a ‘73 Ford LTD donated by the local Ford dealer. Very nice car and the 55 mph national speed limit wasn’t in effect yet. Nice cruising on the interstate at 75 mph.

@@justintyme7213 right, and it was missing some hubcaps and looked overall crusty

@@Fabulousprofound168 Yea. All it needs is a LOT of dust, a big dent in the roof, a teardrop light and for the horn to sound every time the door opens 😂😂

Dodge and Ford had the corner on the TV cop car market in the ‘70s.

@@aidanfeighery6634 Indeed, the 1971-73 Matadors were cheap, tough, reliable motors & proved popular with police departments across the US. However from 1974 onwards quality waned & they were no longer buying them in those numbers they once did.

That was not a 1972 model. he is going to have other officers looking for the wrong car.

Those were my two cars, or copies of them. A 1967 Eldorado and a 1972 Pinto, and yes I lived in this area.

2:11 Who do we blame for gasoline shooting out of the filler neck here? Is it the prop guy or the car wrangler?
@stratfordbaby24 күн бұрын
3:20 That guy played the babyfaced cop in an episode of Maude.

At 2.11 someone forgot to put the gad cap back on the police car 😆🤣😆🤣 ..... lots of fun stuff CCW2
@vincemajestyk9497 Жыл бұрын
It was probably on. I had cars that would do that too. The caps were vented back then. I have a '70 Dodge pickup truck and saw the same thing going around a corner. Guy had a locking cap on it causing it. Just put a regular one back on.
@SirEpifire4 ай бұрын
Right at 2:09 you can see fuel gush out of the fuel door on that turn. Somebody must not have put that cap on very tight!

Same thing as a Chevy Bel Air chasing a Impala.

02:10 forgot to put the gas cap on the car.. dangerous and stupid when doin high speed driving speeds!

It's a Chevy on the inside but a Ford outside.

So seriously are you going to blame the truck driver for entering a car chase when in reality its bad guy who crashes his car at 2:23 mark and yet keep running is at this moment were the cop car stops but can't go all because of hollywood's won't start car cliche ugghhh i don't like it that much 😠😠.

It’s a ‘73 or ‘74 ,Ford not a ‘72

You could see gas dumping out of the filler on the cop car turning the corner. I don't think L.A. ever actually used these LTD's in service. I believe the production company had a promo deal with Ford. These things looked like they had marshmallows for suspensions. Supposedly Freebie and the Bean holds the record for the most destroyed Galaxies or LTD's. I kind of liked the anthology series 'Police Story' better. They had more interesting stories and guest appearances. It was just on MeTV in 2020 but they pulled it probably because it was too radical for the time. Some of those stories were WILD! I believe Joseph Wambaugh was a contributing writer who was an ex-Cop and prize-winning author who pulled from his real life experiences.

yeah there was an episode of chips from season one when an LA cop car. 1968 galaxie loses fuel when it goes around the corner, and yes it was definitely a deal with ford, no SoCal Metro agencies used fords between 1970 and 1982, san franciso always used them though

At 3:03, I saw the 68 Charger in traffic and said "ohhh a 68 Charger in the wild". Then the next second you added in a caption pointing out the Charger. Great minds think alike Car Chase Wonderland 😂
