Hello gentlemen. Good comparison video between the 2024 RAM 1500 and the 2024 Toyota Tundra. It was a tight comparison. My choice between these two trucks would be the RAM 1500. Primarily because of the rims being more stylish, more interior storage, better audio system, adjustable air suspension system and the raw sound of the V8 engine. Both of these trucks beat the ones from Nissan, Chevy and Ford.

I was Ram owner up until about 16 years ago bought I believe 5 Rams up to that point. I’d buy a new truck every 2-3 years. In 2007 I bought my first Tundra. Drove it hard for 13 years and 250k miles. Truck was very reliable and only changed out the starter. So in 2020 I decided to get another truck. The Tundra was definitely in last place when comparing to the domestic’s overall but wanted that reliability again and I received a good deal from my local Toyota dealer so I purchased a 2020 Tundra. Now in future if I decide to get a new truck I will look a little closer at the domestic offerings and see if the Tundras reliability is still superior at that time.

Loved my 2013 Laramie/Longhorn (15-22mpg), but reliability was an ongoing issue. Now at 170k I'm looking at a complete rear end rebuild & both manifolds need replacing. The outside mirrors clouded over at around 95k. Also had to replace the rusted out oil pan @ 80k $1000. I'll get the Ram repaired & keep it as a work truck for the guys. My old 2014/2022 Tundras were amazing but were 12mpg around town, but I never had any repair issues. I traded the 22 up to a 24 Tundra Limited, but I also just picked up a 2024 Tundra Platinum, I-Force Max hybrid & I could not match the options it had in a Ram for the same price. Both the new 24's are business trucks so deductible.

Nice review, and i also feel Ram just edges out the Tundra.......I have both trucks. I agree that RAM audio sound and the storage inside is great. Exterior has dual crome exhaust, to Tundras 1 side, but you did forgot to mention rams side mirrors do not fold in when leaving vehicle. My 2024 Tundra. The power and Torque is crazy good and the ride is very comparable to the RAM air bags..... what's nice on the Ram is you can lower the truck for grandma to get in and out with ease. The Tundra 14" computer screen and navigating through it feels easier. More cameras makes it nicer for parking, Also the Tundra interior ambient lighting and has a live rear view camera are nice, also comes with 2 year tire rotation and oil changes. RAM does not. I was surprised that you said fuel economy was similar and i am getting at least 5 miles a gallon more with the Tundra hybrid. For me the styling and reliability is why the Tundra had it over the RAM since the styling hasn't been changed in 6 years. But I do love my 2020 Ram limited.

well there is one thing it has that the competition doesn't: a fully rear roll down window. all the other full size trucks have that tiny ass middle window that barely opens. also, the tundra won't be the only truck that will not have a v8 engine as an option soon, and that will be the ram 1500. silverado and even the gmc sierra denali ultimate doesn't even offer a pano roof on the top trim which is weird as heck and there are still hard touch plastics on the ultimate, when doug reviewed the sierra ultimate. ventilated seats are rare in the back seat, and only ram offers them besides toyota and it will cost more than the toyota. any model that debuts their redesign will have issues, usually its the 3rd model year or the refresh period when the vehicles have better quality

I had a brand new 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman quad cab with a hemi, no etorque system. For being a basic work truck, it was great. The cloth seats were comfortable, the acceleration was powerful and smooth. It would make you want to smash on the pedal every time. I never felt a lag. Suspension was great in my opinion considering it was rwd with basic stock suspension. It had the small 4inch Bluetooth screen that functioned well. The analog dash was great. The design looked modern, it had a 3D feel to to it. Overall, I loved that truck. I traded my Ram for a brand new '23 Tundra 1794 Edition TRD Off-Road crew cab a few months ago due to my growing family. Not sure if I love my Tundra but it has almost everything I was looking for in a upscale truck. I wanted a different color both exterior and interior from the rest of the trucks. I settled for Army Green exterior and Saddle Brown interior which in my opinion looks great. Don't see it as much here in Northern California. Comfort level is great along with suspension. I really like the storage compartment under the rear bench/seats and the leg/head room. It has a lot of useful cameras that I use regularly: sides, front, rear, and bed views. Camera resolution is good. Wireless Android Auto connects flawlessly as soon as I hop in. Digital dash and infotainment interfaces are great. Digital rear view mirror is cool but don't use it as much, prefer non-digital. Pano roof and rear sliding window are cool features as well. Just wish it had a release/close tailgate button inside the cabin, the powered cabin steps and bed step that come standard with the 1794 Editions without TRD Off-road package, and most importantly a V8. I've never driven Toyota's 5.7 V8 but I sure do miss the Hemi excitement. I basically felt badass in a Ram with a Hemi whereas in my Tundra I-Force I don't 😅

Ram for sure. The interior, features, and traditional V8(last model year for the 5.7) alone are worth it. Ram should've received an additional 0.5 point for front tow hooks, something that Toyota doesnt offer even on the offroad-oriented TRD. Toyota also requires a subscription for its navigation system to be operational. The Toyota is also very space inefficient. The under seat storage is a huge deal for Big 3 truck buyers, plus the cab is noticeable in its "tightness" against Ford, Chevy, and Ram. Yes, the Toyota can rest on its "reliable" laurels, but I hate to be the informant of bad news: This will not be your "1 million mile Tundra". That battery will go out and will be damn expensive to replace.
@huanronghu443210 ай бұрын
well u r right, but also tundra should get 0.5 of a point for having sequential rear turn signals as well so they both cancel each other out. i would agree and disagree with u saying the tundra is space inefficient. tundra doesn't have storage on the bottom just on the hybrid models, non-hybrids get them. however, the panoramic sunroof could be designed a bit better for more headroom and also legroom could be a little bit better since the previous generation had more. that is where the ram should have scored another half a point as those headroom figures for both front and rear are for the non-pano roof tundras. the pano-roof tundras headroom figures are 39.2 and 36.9 respectively.
@hellkitty101410 ай бұрын
@@huanronghu4432 I finally got the chance to sit in the rear of the Tundra and I was shocked at the lacking headroom. Great food for thought, here are a few other considerations now that some time has passed. Then give RAM 1 point for being JD Power best truck for initial build quality and take 2 away from Toyota for being listed as the worst reliable truck in 2024 by consumer reports. I have owned several Tacomas and they served me well. When I recently went to upgrade to 1/2 ton I was sad to see I could no longer trust them and they have really slipped over the last few years in quality, look at all the engine failures and paint issues. Also, I just do not like the looks of the front end, that’s just my opinion, as others clearly like it’s styling. I got the Ram Limited and absolutely love it so far. I see you gave points for a power step in the rear to Tundra but no points for the Multi Function Tailgate. This has to be one of the single best features on my truck. I use the bed a lot and being able to get closer to the bed makes it so much easier, and you get a step as well.

Ram 1500 but it’s close I love my ram I traded in my 2019 and got a 2024.. I will say the tundra feels great in the straight line outside of that. It is a very boxy.

I believe you recorded this video before the new Toyota engines blew up... Toyota totally disapointing... I would go for the RAM

Ram no contest

Is this RAM the v6 with a 3.21 gear ratio? Sheesh my ram with 3.92 has 10 or 11k for max towing.

In my opinion, ram win on the inside interior hands-down better quality more sophistication set up is better special with the screen dashboard screen

Surely this video is the best for comparison between these models.

That Toyota is the truck for me! Better electronics and longer lasting engine

Ram got the superior ride comfortability of any truck or car that matter I know I’m a ram limited owner lol

And this Ram doesn't have the ramboxes. They add so much more storage space.

You can get a limited for a much lower price making it cheaper than the IMax Tundra too.

No RamBoxes on the RAM? You missed a major feature.

Wait a minute you forgot to mention ram got to hooks. I don’t see no tow hooks on this Toyota truck.

Too bad the Tundra isn't bringing reliability. Those new turbo V6's are blowing out like crazy.

RAM!!!

Talk about tying the knot, trying to choose between the 2 is a challenge and all comes down to personal styling and performance preference. Theres no other way to put it. They’re similar and unique in almost everyway. I myself would stick to the ram just because of that V8. But the TT in the tundra sounds quite menacing for a V6.

Toyota actually pipes in fake V8 engine noise. That's what you were hearing.
