Funny how far scraps can go. Well done. I do this every so often and it seems like at the end I hardly put a dent in the scrap pile. Sometimes I’m making the scrap pile bigger using my full card stock to match up with the scraps therefore, making more scrap. It is fun and challenging so I don’t mind but I do feel like I’m going around in circles.

Fab video Alli, I love these kind of videos so I'd love to see more from you! It makes me want to get back into my papercrafting stash which has been seriously neglected this year!! My favourite is the yellow card with those adorable seals - the marks you made with that ink brush is wonderful!

I enjoy the scrap card making because I have so much of it. My problem is I over think all the colors and bits and bobs in my scrap folders. I need to be a lot more care free and relaxed about mixing and matching things.

Thanks for suggesting starting with the focal point and working your way to the background. I feel like I get stuck when I start with the background and just can’t think of what to do next.
@metababycow2 жыл бұрын
I always start that way around! And if I get stuck I just put it aside and work on something else. Usually that helps me figure out a path forward!

HI I have been watching your videos for a bit now. Generally I watch your AliExpress haul ones but I remember after you Christmas and New Year one you said you wouldn't be buying for a while because you wanted to stay within your budget. I too am on a budget diet as I have been out of work for the past 7 mths and counting. But I saw your most recent post of your 8 cards made with your scraps. I have to say I just had to put the video on pause to send you this note to say you are an inspiration and that you have made me look at card making in a whole new light. I know you are in the UK and I am in North America (Canada to be specific) so with the card size you are using would you be able to give me a conversion of what it would be in I guess most people say US dimensions? As I know you have A4 cardstock vs our A2 cardstock measurements. I look forward to continuing to watch your wonderful work. "Happy Creating"
@metababycow2 жыл бұрын
Lois this is such a lovely comment ❤ I am so happy to hear I have inspired you! There's definitely a lot of pressure in the craft community to buy new things and I think it's important to remember we have all these amazing supplies already we can use. Of course, the finished cards I make in this video measure 4" wide by 5 3/4" tall. I make them by trimming a sheet of A4 down to 8" by 11 1/2" and then cutting that in half to make two card bases. It's slightly different to an A2 card base but pretty close, and I like doing them that way because I prefer to work in inches, and a full sheet of A4 doesn't divide exactly by inches. Sometimes I do 6x6", 5x7", slimline or random sized cards too, but usually I will go for this 4x5 3/4" size if I'm making my own card bases. Most of my designs would work on A2 as well because there is minimal difference - and to be honest, I'm not very good at accurately measuring things so I often do thing by eye or on the fly! Hope that helps and thanks for supporting my videos ❤

Great video. You are correct that sometimes the best cards are the ones where we use up our stash. What company is the black wine bottle and glasses from? They are around the 12:00 mark. Thanks so much in advance. Have a wonderful day!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Definitely gives you a good sense of achievement when you use things up ❤ That set is the Hunkydory For the Love of Stamps set in Time for Wine. Isn't it pretty?! I can't find it on their site so it might be discontinued - might find one on ebay if you're lucky though!

Just stumbled upon your channel! This is so similar to how I card make and I was excited to see another person with a process akin to mine; though I am a newbie. How long does it take you to make a card?
@metababycow2 жыл бұрын
Hey Stacey! Lovely to find a technique twin 😘 Honestly it varies - anywhere from 10 minutes to 5 hours depending on complexity and how much I use from my scrap box!! When I was a newbie, every card would take me hours and hours. The more you practice and learn, the faster you get!!
@staceypendergraft1402 жыл бұрын
@@metababycow I would say mine average about a half hour and if I really have trouble making one work it can go to a full hour. Do you have ideas how to find a card exchange? I am in the states and not having much luck.

I believe this is my first time to watch one of your videos. Your work is interesting and creative. I have subscribed. I might suggest that you select some music that is not quite so punchy and electronic; I do not think the music compliments your work.

Thanks Angela that's very kind! Welcome to the channel. Thanks also for the feedback on the music, I appreciate it ☺
