One big point missed.... CV points allow flights to be booked for any family member added to your profile, but Air India does not permit this, a very big disadvantage.

No, you can redeem points and book the ticket for your family members, just check the Terms and Conditions of Flying Return there is a special section called Family Pool, check that one. It's clearly written over there: Air India Flying Returns members can use their points to book flights for friends and family on Air India and Star Alliance airlines. The Head of the Family (HOF) can create a Family Pool to share points and make redemption easier. Points are credited to the HOF's account if they book for others in the family pool, or to the member's account if they use their own points. Here's what to keep in mind when using points to book for others: Family Pool: The HOF can request customer support to create a Family Pool and get consent from other Flying Returns members to join. Points are credited according to the family pool's split ratio. Upgrades: Points can be used to upgrade cabin class for the member, family, or friends on Air India flights. Upgrades are based on availability and only apply to confirmed bookings in eligible classes. Codeshare flights are ineligible. Membership ID: Include the membership ID with the booking.

However, if you are suggesting otherwise, I have submitted a support ticket to seek clarification.

Some foreign destinations - mumbai to maldives air india requires lesser points as compared to vistara. Air india needs 8000 points to club vistara which needs 10000 points.

Thanks for this informational video, very crisp I have Axis Vistara Infinite is due for renewal on 22 Sept 2024, as per Vistara customer care, I have only ~7500 tier points and as per new rules, I will not be renewed for CV Gold membership from October 2024 and will be downgraded to Flying Returns Silver tier and at the same time I will be charged ₹10000 renewal fee If I choose to Opt-In, will I get migrated Flying Returns before Oct 2024 or only when Vistara program ends, which could be in 2025 as well Will Vistara program continue beyond Oct 2024? Please guide for my scenario, should I opt out or opt in for merger

Biggest Drawback of IDFC vistara card is that- you get eligible for Lounge access only after spendig 20K each month in a Quarter i.e 60K. Axis Vistara Signature little flexible with 50K spend criteria in whole quarter (no monthly restrictions). Best is SBI Vistara Card prime: Customer will get Lounge access (8 Domestic and 4 Overseas) without any spending criterias.

I am not at all happy with this merger... I have lots of vouchers and points left. The expiry period of Vistara CV points was really good. And it will be tough to use all points & vouchers within a year after the migration.

You're getting confused. As far as vouchers go the validity will be same after migration also. Coming to points, suppose you have 10,000 CV points. 2000 CV points are expiring on 31st December, 2024; 3000 CV Points on 30th June, 2025; and the rest 5000 CV Points on 31st December, 2025. And if we assume that the programme merges from 1st September, 2024. Now, as of 1st September, 2024, 2000 CV points which are expiring on 31st December, 2024 and 3000 CV Points which are expiring on 30th June, 2025 have a validity less than one year. Now, these 5000 CV points will have a validity of one year i.e. these will remain valid till 31st August, 2025. Rest 5000 CV points which have a validity greater than one year will retain its original validity i.e. 31st December, 2025. With regard to expiry there should not be any concern.

Better to apply Scapia card it’s very good for lounge access only 5000 you swipe in a month and you will access unlimited lounge access for the whole month
